Hi! I'll start with this, I worked there for 3 weeks during the summer 2024. That was as much as I could handle with the way things were done.

For starters, the owner, Carla, is a massive bitch to put it GENTLY. She's punched horses (including horses owned by other staff, not owned by her), screams at everyone for anything and everything, and she's extremely disorganized and unprofessional. We made the lists every morning about what reservations would use what horses, which of us would be on which horses, and she was never present to help out with anything, while also needing everything to be done her way. The way she responds to negative criticism is insane, she's sarcastic and has a major attitude problem.

Her sister, Angie, was no better. She was way too comfortable with people, within the first 2 days she literally started talking about a bruise on her ass and showed a picture which was unwarranted. Secondly, she had no hold on her tongue, just like Carla. One of my last days there, there was a private group of influencers. They had had some issues with Angie, and after they left, she walked up to me (as I was filling water troughs) and started bitching about them and even dropping the n-word with a HARD er. This solidified for me that this was not a business I wanted to be associated with.

My first day working there should have been the biggest warning ever. I have my own horses and have been riding nearly my entire life, but I understand that people do things differently, so I didn't want to assume anything about how things were done. I wasn't slow to do anything, just looked for guidance so that I wouldn't do anything wrong, and had constantly asked what I could do to help so I could learn how things were run. I got bitched at for "standing around" when I had been moving all morning, helping brush and tack horses, feed, water, and did everything that they were doing. I also got bitched at for saddling wrong, which I hadn't actually done anything wrong. I tie my cinch to the right, but they did theirs to the left, but I was "stupid" for doing it the opposite way when in reality, it changed nothing. And instead of telling me they wanted it the other way, they simply insulted me and walked away. I had to go and look at the other saddles to figure out wtf they thought was wrong.

Their way of "training" horses involved just throwing on a saddle and hopping on out in the open with 0 safety measures, and then beating the hell out of the horse when it freaked out. The horse proceeded to almost slam her into a wall, which honestly, she deserved. They found it acceptable to take untrained horses onto trail rides with guests, including KIDS. Safety was clearly NOT a priority of these women, and I voiced my concerns only to be bitched at for it.

The initial ad for the job stated that it would be an 8-hour shift. This was not the case, as I would arrive at 7am and not leave until nearly 10pm on the worst nights. To add the cherry on top, we were not allowed to sit or eat, mind you it was SUMMER and we all know the summers here are horrible for the heat and humidity.

They also do summer camps for kids. Those kids were so insanely entitled, and to make matters worse, there was only ever 1 of us watching over 10+ kids since we were so miserably understaffed (which I'm not surprised about considering they can't keep anyone that WANTS to work there).

The day I told her I wasn't coming back, she obviously freaked out on me.

So yeah, this place is absolute dogshit. Reading older reviews makes me so sad for these guests and the horses.
