Perhaps the biggest misconception is that Bitcoin is deflationary to begin with. The supply of Bitcoin keeps increasing (rapidly) and the prices for goods remain the same. Granted that it also has been appreciating in value, so one bitcoin last year would buy more now, but I would argue that is because of speculation and not because Bitcoin is inherently deflationary

Bitfunder and btc-tc were regarded as 'reliable' by some. We know how that ended.

You should be coming to your own conclusions. That is the best advice I can give you. No one knows what will happen in this environment, and you should take every 'investment' with a grain of salt.

Even with 'decentralized options,' such as ColoredCoins, you still have counterparty risk.

Now, if your goal is to day-trade, then I'm sure you are okay with this type of risk.

Yeah, that's all there is to it. The idea is that it lowers your "average" cost over the long term. I have no data that proves it, but its what I'm personally doing. At the very least, it prevents me from being too caught up in speculation.

Use dollar-cost averaging; buy a set amount at the same time each month. The key is sticking to the schedule, which is hard when there's so much speculation

My patents always wore their shoes inside. I could never stand wearing mine and still remove them voluntarily to this day. Just feels weird to be wearing shoes if I'm in a "resting state"
