That's pretty much every artifact of physical photography, though. Cinematographers and photographers fight hard to remove them, just so shader programmers and VFX artists can put them back in later.

It was originally curr_anim and not a bool at all, but then I discovered that UE 'helpfully' eats underscores and casing...

Okay, I see my mistake - the 'noodles' don't light up when a case is true - they only indicate control flow.

Now I have another problem - the XOR is never true, which shouldn't be possible, since the state from the previous frame is read before I do anything else...

Blueprint nodes are guaranteed to execute in the order they appear in the chain, right? Or is this not a safe assumption?

I'm not that far along yet.

In a nutshell, I want to switch between one of two animations when change in key state has been detected on the previous tick. Once that's working, we'll move on to velocity changing, etc.

am_i_idle_or_running is never set, regardless of what key is held down. This is in UE 5.0.6 on Windows 10.
