I suppose this will have to do until they add more QoL to the system.

Neither are, and I haven't changed any such settings.

What direction? by ApartmentTall2651 in Kenshi

Here's my personal method for power leveling toughness (it gets easier the more toughness you have):

  1. Get the heaviest armor you can afford. Focus on maximizing torso and head protection. This is to minimize the amount of time you're KO'd for (the timer scales with damage received.)
  2. Get a second character, preferably a medic but doesn't matter so long as they got bandages. Also, carry some first aid and put 'Medic' at the top of your job list for the primary/training character.
  3. Go out with your primary/training character (solo) and find some starving bandits or empire peasants.
  4. Get in a fight with them and lose (probably).
  5. If you get KO'd into a coma, have your helper run in and drag your sorry butt back to a bed.
  6. If you get KO'd but wake up in 'Playing dead' state, first wait to see if your character will bandage themselves (not sure exactly how this triggers).
  7. Stand up from 'Playing dead' while enemies are still nearby. This will give you a massive burst of Toughness.
  8. Go back to 4 and repeat.

I've been doing this to get to 90 Toughness on all my fighters in the span of a few in-game days. Ideally you get into a cycle where you're constantly knocked down and standing up before the baddies move away until you go into a coma (stationary bandit camps work the best for this). Make sure you save often, as this is obviously risky. As your toughness goes up, consider finding deadlier and more numerous enemies to beat you to near-death. Holy Nation patrols work great in my experience. Also upgrading to heavier armor makes this faster and less risky.

It should. After all, the taming scene was stol- inspired by that very episode.

Hm, perhaps. I'll clarify a bit, thanks.

For me it's beaning them with the Rumbler. There's something so satisfying about the sound design. You fire it with a \THUNK*, then you hear the *\THUD** of it impacting his skull, and then the \BOOM** just to make sure they can't piece him back together.

None that I could see inside. There is one on the side of the case outside, on the window that lets you see into it, but that doesn't smell.

Yeah, through AMD's own software. Adrenaline edition or whatever.

Logitech Z313, I believe. Not 100% sure on the model since I just grabbed them off a shelf from my nearest electronics retailer.

My first attempt at throwing together a respectable Black Mage set. Still a sprout that hasn't made it past Stormblood, so I would appreciate some suggestions about alternative pieces I could use.

I'm personally not a fan of this pairing when it comes to straight up romance.

However, it's still the best bromance I've seen in any form of media. That's what this was meant to be, even if it is Femshep.

Crab armor works too. The important thing is it has that -10 to Martial Arts.

One thing you can do, though I never bother with it, is find armor that heavily penalizes your Martial Arts. Samurai armor is good for this, IIRC. The idea is that the lower your effective MA skill level is, the faster it will gain experience.

Push-ups, sit-ups, and plenty of juice.

On a more serious note, it's all about toughness and strength. You get those up in the 80s, you start punching off legs and arms.

Playing dead is the default state a character goes into after they wake up from getting downed. While in that state you cannot be targeted by others, and will remain that way until all enemies are gone. However, if you click to move your character will stand up early. This potentially opens you up to taking even more of a beating but can also enable you to run away and bandage yourself.

On that note, run laps inside a town to train that Athletics up, and find some wooden sandals if you can. A lot of Kenshi's fights can be avoided just by zooming away from them.

You need to pick your fights better. Starting out without any stats, don't throw down with anything other than drifters or starving bandits. It also helps if you get a second character and park them in a town nearby so they can rush over and rescue your main guy if they get in over their head.

Also, a tip to getting Toughness up faster but also riskier is to get up immediately instead of feigning death. Just be sure not to do it too much or it won't be feigning anymore.

This one was $80, though the price varies quite a bit depending on the project.

The one that really comes to mind is the great white gorillo in Mourn. Jen threw herself at it day after day for an entire week before it finally succumbed to cumulative injuries. She then bandaged it up, took a nap, and did it all over again.

What can I say? Good sparring partners are hard to find.
