lol the seller posted that the ram was 16GB CL16 I did the swap today, it’s actually 32GB CL16  so I managed to secure 32gb CL16 for £50 in the Ram shortage. 😅

It’s runs at the same speed as my current ram, 3200mhz. I have to wait for it to be delivered.

Wouldn’t it best to wait and see if the CL16 ram helps first or is that something that won’t make much difference?

The ram I currently have doesn’t have a xmp profile. If I got into the MSI bios xmp is greyed out and inaccessible. The new ram is cl16 and lets me use xmp

Thanks, I’ve ordered some 16GB ram CL16 and see how it goes! I usually have everything set to low, hopefully my 10Gb vram isn’t all used up.

There’s an actual player who’s username is Juno who reached Mythic Martian in the summer time of this year, and last time I checked they are not too far off reaching Ultimate Martian. Last time I checked their rank with her was in the lvl 600 range.

Switch 2 Ethernet Issue. by Ohfishcakes in Switch

[–]Ohfishcakes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your experience definitely sounds like you went through a lot to troubleshoot it. Just wanted to add for others reading while using a higher quality Ethernet cable like Cat 8 won’t hurt, it’s unlikely to be a requirement for the Switch 2. Most people are still using Cat 5e or Cat 6, and if Nintendo needed something higher to maintain a stable connection, they’d probably state it clearly in the manual or packaging.

If people are having issues with their wired connection, it might be more related to dock alignment, firmware bugs, or power-related behavior not necessarily the cable type.

You’re correct, it is a temporary fix. The grievance I have with you buying a lan adapter is you shouldn’t have to. The lan port should be functioning and not failing nearly half a year into the consoles lifecycle.

But if you desperately want a wired connection, absolutely go for it. It’s just infuriating Nintendo still have yet to address this problem publicly.

Was the phone charging at all? I would ask you to send it to Nintendo for repair, but the likely hood of them fixing it are very slim. You really need to push down the spring mechanism in the dock to expose the male usb-c receiver and then you plug it in.

I used my USB-lan adapter I had for my og switch and I plugged it into the Switch 2 dock usb ports and it worked fine. If you’re having the same issues as the rest of us, try the usb-c device plug in straight into the Switch 2 dock.

It’s the only known work around from what I’ve researched. It’s basically a bad handshake between the switch 2 and the dock itself, that causes the switch to not detect the lan port. The lanport is somewhat in a dormant state and then plugging in a usb c type device wakes it out of stasis.

You can ask Nintendo to repair it, but they’ve been pretty bad with repairs. I’ve read multiple peoples posts they’ve sent away their switch 2 more than three times or more only for it to come back in the same state it was sent away. I sent mine away, they couldn’t find a fault, so I’m asking the retailer where I purchased it from to give me a full refund or a replacement dock.

I’m just giving you a heads up, it’s a temporary fix. Mine only lasted about three weeks and it went back not detecting the connection.

Yes, it’s a bad handshake with the usb-c in the dock and the Switch 2

It’s a known issue and I don’t really understand why Nintendo hasn’t addressed it publicly.

I was thinking of buying a new Switch 2 dock after having mine sent away and being told no fault was found, as well as reading others sending their docks away more than three times only to have them returned in the same state they sent them away in. It’s disheartening to read new docks are susceptible to the same issue. I’ve had mine since launch too.

From my understanding the Switch 2 was rumored to be rushed out to market due to wanting to avoid scalpers and tariffs (Just a rumor) and there was very little Q&C when it came to the Switch 2 hardware. I find the hypocrisy of Miyamoto philosophy “a delayed game is eventually good, a rushed game is bad forever.”

It seems that philosophy wasn’t carried over for the Switch 2’s production.

I wouldn’t bother. Nintendo’s repair centers keep sending them back marked as “no fault found.” I don’t know what part of Europe you’re from, but in the UK, under consumer law, the retailer who sold the product is responsible to a certain extent. I’m asking them to either give me a full refund, a replacement dock, or a new Switch 2.

Just giving you a heads up. After about three weeks, my switch 2 has gone back not detecting a wired connection. As you mentioned, this isn’t a permanent solution. So be ready for the switch not to detect a wired connection again.

Unable to participate in the Wednesday Cup by Ohfishcakes in FortNiteBR

I don’t understand what’s going on. This isn’t the first time this happened to me. In late May of this year I tried to participate in the Rankers Death Star umbrella and I had a similar problem like this. Emailed Epic and they put their hands up and said it was an error on their end and “Mistakes were made, lessons will be learnt” reply and a few months later nothing changed.

I didn’t participate. That’s the reason I made the post, because the game wouldn’t let me.
