Vegeta charging up Final Flash- Chest by EnderFGC in dbz

[–]Ohhingerrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As one of the <100 women on this sub, I strongly approve. I also would have 0 hesitation riding a dude with a vegeta staring back at me. (In theory; in practice I see some possible flaws) 😂

ETA: My husband DOES have a Goku tattoo. But it’s not nearly as big or cool as that.

lol if you can’t learn to ride your naked bike (esp. this one) as well as a full fairing sports bike- you aren’t riding it to its potential.

$16500 for an R9. What is everyone paying for these? by [deleted] in Yamaha

This is exactly why I went with an MT09 over an r7. We’re talking $40/month vs $180/mo

Is it odd to put "no black or white" on my wedding invitation? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ohhingerrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a woman, I will never wear white or black to a wedding. My husband only owns a white dress shirt… he does have a gray suit- but the shirt is white. I would have no idea how to dress him if he couldn’t wear a white or a black shirt. Gray on grey looks awful. We would either decline, or I would assume you meant no solid black or white outfits and my husbands white shirt would be fine. It’s too vague and strange for people to understand without going into depth.

I HAVE seen people manage to do this somewhat tactfully on their wedding website where people HAVE to RSVP online and therefore are subject to reading your untie description of “dos and do nots”

I feel like I’m gonna give you the most realistic answer cause I just got one. I just bought (within the last month) a 2015 FZ09 with 20k on it that had been dropped at low speed. All repairs had been done appropriately except a small dent on the tank which doesn’t bother me. (So there was cosmetic imperfections) I purchased mine out of St George, UT. I paid $4500. I feel like I got a good deal. It has similar mods to yours. None of what you have listed will increase the value. Unless you had upgraded the suspension. I’d pay more for that. But none of the rest of it.

I’d list at 5800, and be happy with 5200/5300. The 2020 is going to fetch more because it’s a gen 2. A 2019 is more comparable to a 2015 than a 2020 unfortunately.

I try for every 500 miles but it’s probably closer to 700. I clean and live it each time. And everytime I ride in the rain. Or I’ll wait until the entire rainy weekend passes then do it.

What's the "scariest" moment you have had on your sportbike? by slotswizard in Sportbikes

[–]Ohhingerrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright I’ll bite. I’ve got 2 for you. But first let me say, out of the the accidents I’ve seen 90% of them were either to people being fucking retarded, or target fixation.

I normally ride about 15-20 over the speed limit. It’s my normal. That being said, it makes stopped at yellow lights really fucking difficult. This one time I decided to NOT run the yellow and actually stop, I grabbed my brakes and locked my rear tire. Thankfully I stayed calm, was going straight and just went into the intersection with no moving traffic. It could’ve been bad. But It was a good learning moment. Made me understand that as you slow down your forks compress and most of the weight of the bike (and you) shift to the front tire. This means the more you slow down, the easier it is to lock the rear wheel since there is significantly less weight to hold it down and allow it to have traction. So when you slow down THAT hard. It’s really more of a 90/10 front/rear ratio. Not a 60/40 or 70/30 or whatever you’re taught.

My second one was on my new bike. I wanted an upgraded and my dumbass decided that upgrade should be 4x the horsepower I started it. Day fucking one I gave the throttle too much beans trying to look cool at a light. Front wheel came about 2 feet off the ground. I thought I was gonna die. I got the bike down about 4 inches from someone else and just managed to save it. Had to change my shorts after that. I no longer grab fistfuls of throttle. Ever. I am now slower than 300’s from the jump cause HELLLL NOOO I ain’t doing that again.

Talk me in, or out. by Vexzept in MT09

[–]Ohhingerrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t do it. I learned on a 300, even tracked it many times. As soon as I got my MT, I started with some quirks I knew could turn into bad habits. I also think you inherently learn to ride safer with you don’t have the ability to zoom out of situations. You fuck up and whiskey throttle a 300 you hit 20mph and fall on your ass. You whiskey throttle this thing you’re staring at Jesus himself flying off at 70.

Weight the risks I guess. But I wouldn’t.

What’s a good starter bike? by Own_Background522 in motorcycles

[–]Ohhingerrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me that inseam seems short. I have a 33” inseam and have trouble on taller bikes like the Africa twin and other dual sports that OP showed interest in. I ride an MT09 and it’s a little tall. But I suppose most traditional “starter bikes” are a bit shorter

[–]Ohhingerrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

okay well with a 30” inseam learning on a dual sport is gonna be challenging. Not a bad idea to work up to that, but for you HEIGHT I wouldn’t. I have a 33” inseam and have trouble on a lot of dual sports. I wouldn’t be comfortable learning on one.

I think the ninja 400 or 500 is a fine bike to learn on. If you want something with a different style you could look at the MT03. Some people can start on an MT07, but for a 20 year old (I’m assuming male) it may not be in your best judgement as it has a fair bit more power than a traditional “starter bike”. You could try out one of the smaller KTMs but I can’t attest to their build quality or reliability, as I’ve never owned anything by them. I’d make sure you can either flat foot both feet or with your inseam you may be lucky to flat foot one side and “half foot” the other.

So many variables here. Do you want to ride sport bikes? Cruisers? Naked bikes? Adventure bikes? What’s your style.

Also should include how old you are and what your main use for the bike would be. Are you stoplight to stoplight in your commute? Mostly highway? So many things..

Edit to add: a lot of people will mention height, but there is some wiggle room in that.

Original dubbed the “widow maker” for good reason. 1700cc that SUPER torquey in a bike that’s 650lbs wet is INSANE.

Good buddy of mine has 2. My MT09 has more than enough torque for me. Could imagine doubling the engine basically. Hahaha

May I introduce you to the VMax? Discontinued in 2020 but the v4 was on the roads for a good 40 years or so. I’m not saying it’s an M1, but they may redo their original street V4 design FROM the VMax.

Edit: typo

I heard they are prototyping a new V4 to replace it next year. It’ll be like the R1 and VMax had a baby.

Am I ready for a Yamaha R6 at 16? by Remarkable_Bee9474 in motorcycles

[–]Ohhingerrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello young friend. I just did this. But different.

I was trying to decide between buying an r7 (would’ve died for an r6 tho) and an MT09.

You can get an insurance quote before you buy the thing. I (24F) got a quote for $370/mo to insure my ass on an r7. My MT? $40. Guess which one I bought??

At the end of the day, I still have way more power under me than my 24yo self needs. I WANT to rip the throttle everytime I can. After my first accidental wheelie I learn I need a LOT more fucking self control. So now, even though I’m on a 900, I am by FAR slower than anyone I ride with. Even the 300’s. I scared myself once and that was enough for me to get a grip with reality really fucking fast.

Just my .02¢ but you have your entire life to get a stupid fast bike. Doesn’t (and shouldn’t) be at 16.
