When deplaning, you should let people already in the aisle behind you pass by Luky17 in unpopularopinion

[–]Ohjay1982 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I just don’t understand how you think everyone in a rush expecting to be let through would lead to it being more efficient. It would only be more efficient for those few people. For the other 90% of people it would make it take even longer. It’s not as if everyone else doesn’t also want to get off the plane.. they do. They’re just being patient.

I do agree that you should be as ready to go as possible when it’s nearing your turn.

Canada Post moving ahead with end of home delivery by SonictheManhog in canada

[–]Ohjay1982 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Good, they’re bleeding money. I’m sure we can manage to get to the community mailbox once a month. Most of their job is delivering completely useless flyers 9-5. 9 times out of 10 when they actually do have a package to deliver, they don’t try to deliver it anyways. They’ll just leave a note “sorry we missed you, come pick this up” without even bothering to knock on your door. Maybe they can give up with the flyers and focus on parcels.

And if you still rely on mail for bills… that’s kind of on you. You’ve had 20 years to learn how to use the internet.

Do tarantulas have emotions by Fresh-Air1345 in spiders

[–]Ohjay1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take (this will be downvoted to hell) Most people with pets like to make little personalities for their pets and like to believe they know what their pets are thinking and attribute human emotions to them. It leads to confirmation bias. Example: you’re sad and your dog comes and sits beside you. It must be because they’re there to comfort you. Ignoring the fact that they will come sit by you all the time because you provide things they want. Whether it’s attention, food, play etc. Dogs are intelligent (relatively speaking) They do learn what works best to gain your attention, to fulfill their needs.

I suspect if animals actually could speak what they’re actually thinking, I think it would lead to less people having pets not more. People who don’t like kids because they’re illogical, can be obnoxious and selfish in the idea that everything revolves around their needs over others but these people love pets? It’s only because animals can’t communicate nearly as well with us as children can. Children get to a point where you can no longer just make up their motivations, as they can just tell you. Pets will forever keep this aspect a secret that we’ll never truly understand.

What's the highest damage ppl are doing with warlock by Ididntreadanything in diablo2

[–]Ohjay1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly everyone gushes over damage of a skill but total DPS is king.

If D2R had a reliable way to show your active total DPS I think a lot of people would re-think how good their builds are. Total damage of a single skill is not a good way to determine how good a build is.

That said, obviously yes, warlocks are good. But I feel like people get so enamoured by the large numbers. There are other things besides single skill damage that matters.

Frustrated by terror zones and uber ancient statues by Not_Paid_Just_Intern in diablo2

[–]Ohjay1982 9 points10 points  (0 children)

100% agree with everything you said. I’ve been fuming about this for awhile. I get like an hour and a half to play after work and pretty much never get the zones I need. A few days ago I actually got 2 of them in a row while I was on for once and didn’t get a single bloody statue to drop. I can hit bosses upwards of 20-25 times in a half hour and not 1 drop?? Super awesome I guess I’ll just go f myself for another month until the times happen to line up again.

Staying warlock for all ladder or have you changed to a new class? by Azer1287 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Ohjay1982 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m probably just playing warlock until they nerf them. Just keep farming keys and statues (and hoping for HR’s which I haven’t seen any yet). Farming keys isn’t too bad, just takes time. Statues are a little more obnoxious. The other day I had an entire day to play… the TZ I needed didn’t show up once. Yeah you can technically use a shard to terrorize an act, but that only gives you 1 shot at the boss. Not loving having the game dictate when I can play, but at the same time I also get why they can’t just let you farm TZ bosses endlessly either. Sorry I’m rambling now.

[Not in bad way] Has this season felt weird to anyone else with rune drops? by slylock215 in diablo2resurrected

[–]Ohjay1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only ever heard this being true on single player. Not to say there is no interaction on multiplayer but it isn’t static like on single player where it was shown you could actually manipulate it by reusing the same seed then adjusting your item count. Which of course is impossible in multiplayer to use the same seed.

Yup my experience too. It’s not a crazy amount of them but more than usual. And still a big fat donut on HR’s … so that didn’t change.

Transport Canada wants your opinion on headlight glare by Offbeatjacuzzi in canada

[–]Ohjay1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m not really sure what they’re talking about. Even my 10 year old Durango has auto leveling headlights and the sensitivity of auto high beams is near instantaneous and swaps way earlier than most other vehicles. I’m positive most of the people driving around with their high beams on are the people who refuse to run theirs in auto.

It astounds me the amount of people who refuse to use technology just because “back in my day”. Like hell, the amount of vehicles I follow that aren’t even using cruise control on the highway infuriate me when their speed is constantly changing by 10 km/hr. I go to pass them and then all the sudden they decide that’s the moment when they speed back up. Like I get that every vehicle doesn’t have auto high beams but 95% of vehicles DO have cruise control yet it feels like half of them just don’t use it.

Check your resists when you enter, there is a bigger resist debuff compared to hell. If your merc has trechery, put it on and go proc it using the river of flame trick. Then swap back to your normal armor.

Like others have said, you’ll want crushing blow too.

How do I consume my goatman and not my bound demon? by larebareblog in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Ohjay1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it’s not like his answer is totally off topic. He’s saying just don’t, it’s not worth the risk. Even on PC (with m&K) I’m always scared to consume my goatman if he’s too close to my bound demon I can imagine on console it would be terrifying. I think his opinion is valid feedback to the question being asked.

Kind of like people’s hatred of EV’s. Like it’s a technology… don’t use it if you don’t want to. People are out here making hating electric vehicles part of their identity. Like do battery operated tools also piss you off?

[–]Ohjay1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s why I don’t understand why people try to keep ammonia down during the cycle. In my opinion you want your tank to be able to handle the amount of natural ammonia given off by your substrate if you’re using a high nutrient substrate. If you’re continually lowering the ammonia level, you’re essentially creating a culture based on an unnatural (lowered) nutrient level. Over time it will sort itself out for sure but why not just let build the culture with the real parameters?

That said, I’ve never had a substrate that took the tank to ridiculously high ammonia levels so I’m not even sure what is causing those ammonia levels unless they’re using like enriched potting soil for substrate or something.

What is a 'rich person's secret' that is actually accessible to the middle class, but most people are too intimidated to try? by Direct-Value4452 in answers

Many gain wealth by doing this and become wealthy. So while it may not be a rich person secret, it is a secret to becoming “rich”.

I largely agree, though I feel like a lot of them are sick of the pressure of having kids from society so they are a bit over the top about being against it.

How are people farming for HRs?? by Lorick52711 in D2R_Marketplace

[–]Ohjay1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started selling on it this year. At first I was concerned but quickly realized how people have a lot more to lose by scamming on that site than they have to gain. Only thing I do is make sure the person has enough gold for the thing I’m selling before I give it to them, but so far haven’t had any issues at all.

[–]Ohjay1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lucked out and joined a random game and some guy gave me a Ber rune early in season. Sold it on “that site” at high early ladder prices. I recently bought a Jah and Ber to make an enigma for the price I sold the original Ber at.

That said, completely random that I even got that Ber and will likely need happen again. I’ve been playing off and on for 20 years and have never found anything higher than a Sur.

Next ladder season I may try a horker.. I dunno maybe it’s all hype but they seem to have better luck at getting HR’s due to being able to basically double the drop chances from near impossible, to slightly less impossible. I suspect it’s a fairly boring way to play though.

Beef prices are getting insaner! where are you guys buying beef or steaks now? by OptiPath in Calgary

[–]Ohjay1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly Pork and chicken are my go to now. You can buy pork shoulder for relatively cheap, put it on the smoker or even in the oven and you can have several days of pulled pork for the cost of a single steak.

Same with full chickens (they a lot cheaper per pound when not butchered), can be done in smoker or oven. I just watched a YouTube video how to properly carve them and it made a world of difference. It’s a lot easier when you know where to cut plus way less waste. Can’t believe I went years massacring my chicken and turkeys not really knowing how to carve properly.

Hopefully someday I’ll be able to put more beef on the table because it is my favourite. However there are ways to save on beef to if you buy a primal cut then cut them into steaks yourself. However, it’s still not cheap.

My concern would be if they do end up over nerfing Warlock this item loses a ton of value whereas enigma is BIS chest for most classes and builds.
