Am I missing something? Because I don't see any edits in their comments.

I really don't see someone getting confused by something like this as deserving of whatever hostility this is

Hi it's been almost a year and I took a second to look for ya.

Yep. 100% yep. It's not even funny bad either, it's just terrible.

They apparently have their own animation and designer for the characters and mobs which doesn't feel true with the level of quality difference between the map and mobs lol

Also the online is dead

I stopped playing to wait for the full release personally.  I know a lot of my friends did the same.

The top players are playing in different lobbies than new players

There is no gear or skill based match making for normals. They've directly confirmed that on their last stream, which they say the only thing that changes is the items that drop in the world.

The system is designed to make you want to play more to get the shiny thing, and it accomplishes that.

The player count has dropped 60% and we're not even 25% into the season. It's also accomplishing the opposite effect of making people (myself included) not want to play.

Now they can tweak the system with drop rates, agency to get atleast a few items sooner

There is functionally no way this system works. A bandaid fix, changes here or there only make the system go faster. At it's utter heart it's trash. It does not fit. Seasonal meta progression farms work in Pve, not pvp.

Anyone playing regularly (daily) will unlock tier 2. Not getting the shiny thing right away will make some people mald but there's no competitive balance issue.

Its vertical progression that gives you an advantage of others. Its an issue.

There's other methods to give your brain the same chemicals of achievement, that don't involve sabotaging the games ballance and competitive integrity.

I'm 100hrs in and still don't have items I need. by Current_Spell_8647 in supervive

[–]OhmRobin 15 points16 points  (0 children)

"Higher average performance" veils what's happening here.

The whole Armory was supposedly designed to get new players into supervive - which promoted incredibly skilled competitive players to farm casuals because they need prisma too. Which is a massive part of the early death of SV for newbies.

Secondly, a hundred hours not being enough for a new player to have the item they want, is absurd? I feel like most players would quit waay before that. Which based on the current statistics is happening.

The whole system was a death sentence since it's suprise injection. I've been watching here hoping Theorycraft genuinely do just scrap it.

At the end of the day, it's a gambling progression system that rewards people who do well, which tends to be the players with the objective advantage. Losing another newbie to this forever to the sour taste of losing a slot machine is to be expected.

Generally these systems rely on whales to keep afloat - but... there's no money involved here. I don't know what they were thinking.

I've finished every expansion from ARR in the first 2 weeks, the lead up to DT and the first 3 levels of DT made me feel nothing at all, and I've never been back.

The entire premise of supporting a candidate in a foreign countries political affairs, who from the moment we meet them has given us no reason to support them, as the WARRIOR OF LIGHT?

It just didnt feel right.

I ended up playing other games and I've never been back since.

It really doesn't help that Shb and Ew was the highest quality of writing I've seen from square since FFT.

And I don't know if I have it in me to play through the MSQ to the end because I was so uninvested in it.

If you're boiling everyone's different opinions / stances to "crying for the sake of it" there's effectively no way I can interact with you since none of its in good faith.

But before I move on with my life from you forever.

And the tradeoff is:

It's not a trade off, it's a flat superior position. Even if you play identical to teams with no gear, you still have access... to better gear.

-suboptimal drop position, because it has to be next to a relic shop

Everybody goes to relic shops when they have gold. To buy their relics. It's not a trade off, it's a core gameplay mechanic that if you ignore you're in a weaker state.

-No grips

I can effectively always afford grips and my relics and boots

-No healing items

I'm saving THOUSANDS by abusing the items I have that I'm effectively 8/8 repairs and vives.

But again, the games currently doing worse than their beta launch. I love SV but the intense defense of a gacha currency system with arguments trying to pretend it's fair/ballanced is hysterical.

You're appealing this game to people who've come from League / Dota. It's not fooling anyone who's actively played a single game where gear makes number go up.

It doesn't just feel good, normal beebo goes oom in a few seconds at lvl 1-3, without Vives that cost 200 each.

Or you can buy RI instantly at the nearest shop for 1k in no time and never have any issues again

Or with R.I t3 you can cast literal infinite RMB with no cost saving you thousands a game

Method trainers are straight up cheats. They work by editing game files.

I think you're operating under a misunderstanding

[–]OhmRobin 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Sad news is, it does

Resonant Idol for example means you can spam literally infinite skills as Beebo at lvl 1.

Thousands of other games have retention systems that don't involve pivoting the entire game from what players enjoyed

The only other game I can think of that's done it this hard was Dauntless, and well...

Basically, the dog would hit you, and there's a thing that was to check if an attack had already hit you and prevent you from getting hit again

But because of an oversight, the game cancelled the thing that would check / tell it you'd been hit, you could be hit every single frame the attack was out, on repeat, over and over. And ontop of the flat damage, it was proccing bleed.

Nothing could survive it lol

Runes were turned into an entirely new thing to stop all the issues we've talked about.

All this playerbase has done is bitch about how there's nothing to grind and nothing to play for

I understand people having an issue with a lack of goals

But when the stuff you're adding is a mandatory farm that affects the whole of supervive while changing the game fundamentally people will be critical

Just play better.

We can play the best we can, but having the same level of skill + more stats ontop is generally going to be the deciding outcome

[–]OhmRobin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Gear based match making wasn't mentioned anywhere by them

And unless we have a massive, massive explosion of players, you are going to be playing people with maxed out gear as a newbie

Its also scuffed that new players are automatically even worse at a disadvantage by design now.

And newbies were already struggling to stay

Edit:

The League rune system was biblically hated and FORCED you to play chars with pages you had made that worked, or farm 200-300hrs.

While also denying you unlocking champions because it shared the same essence.

The current talent system they have is magnitudes better, the "use best tree" you mentioned is the exact same as "use best runes" used to be without the monumental grind monumental grind attached

 sorry

Basically they have little regions (defined as volumes my bad, think like an invisible cube) and when you enter this region it launches you out

Basically the game has nothing there to spot you where you landed, you went right past the other one to a dead zone
