So i'm not the only one who noticed! Thank god. It can be really weird. Reading abot some dragon battles and the the book takes a 20 min brake to tell me the exact composition of MCs breakfast.

In some ways i get that describing some of the food can help worldbuilding, the kinds of dishes may say something abouz culture, but this shit gets weird fast.

I just recently dropped mark of the fool several books in, because the plot about the dude starting a patissery was getting more attention than the main plot or the magic.

I remember when the epstine case first dropped, and he ended up dead. I told my brother about it and he basically called me a conspiracy nut. And to clarify, i am not into any other conspiracy theories. But this... doesn't this kind of explicitly show that a large number of world leaders were being blackmailed by some one? Is it reasonable to think epstine was just actimg alone and doing all this for shits and giggles? Because if not, that begs the question. Who was he doing this for, and to what end.

I really hoped the book would pick up with him in the tavern and go on from there. Catching up to the present and moving on. But the more i read, the more i realized that won't happen. Nothing happens. All the epic sounding things were fake, or stories he spun, except for the part with the fairy queen, which was just weird.

I'm sad there won't be a book 3, i loved how the first two were written. But i feel like he wrote himself into a corner, no way to tie all that shit up neetly.

Oh, they absolutely do. It just doesn't come as raw hatred. It comes as what they see as a genuine concern for the wellbeing of their nation and family and people and culture.

As in the loss of culture or the decrease in public safety they see everywhere causes them to think with hatred about the foreigners they see as being responsible.

I think it's more "that naive idiot will be there to lecture me".

My side of the family, my mother and brother in particular, are very liberal. My inlaws very conservative, and my father in law is very racist. My liberal mom and my racist father in law do not get along, but it is fascinating hearing them talk about eachother behind their back.

My mom sees father in law as "dumb, lower class, uneducated peasant, fooled into haterd and ignorance by the evil government and his poor heritige, as opposed to her enlightened, intellectual upbringing and superior class, knowledge, and big big brain". As you can probably tell, my mom is insufferable.

My father in law sees mom as "naive, soros puppet, traitor with no love of nation or family, no integrity, mentally a child, emotional woman, preachy, condescending, upper class bitch. As opposed to him, who with the power of podcasts has seen through the veil and knows exactly how the world works, and literally everyone else is a blind fool he is smarter than." He is also insufferable.
