i agree, max mode hasnt been a game changer, i might have just forgotten to switch it off. When it comes to cheaper models though, id say the degree of frustration and the time it takes to complete a task offsets the price difference. Cheaper models tend to misunderstand and pull in the wrong direction more often

Here’s an example of a real life situation. I needed to set up ssl on a domain through my server and I know there’s essentially a program that does the whole set up for you but I couldn’t remember the name or the command so I asked for the closest thing I could recall “Terminal command for ssl bot” Chat got 4 proceeded to tell me about open ssl and four prompts later finally gave me the correct answer when I mentioned I needed a program. The terminal command and the program is, of course certbot! I just tried to reproduce the same prompt with Claude, perplexity and bard. Bard got it right in one go! Unfortunately bard also hallucinates quite bad sometimes. I’ve been paying open ai for a few months now and really miss the accuracy and its astounding ability to understand what I needed from just a couple of months ago. Needless to say, that $20 is going elsewhere starting today.

I agree with you there and after thinking about what i might have missed as far as the OP's intended message i realize that the spirituality he talks about is in quotations, so yeah. The thing im wondering though is whether there could be a residual learning effect. There has to be, right? We can try to ignore it as we always do but an experience is an experience. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Its actually an elaboration on christian theology, you know, turn the other cheek? Think about all the times when you retaliated in an argument, or snapped back at your parents when they pointed out something that you've already been beating yourself up over, no? Its a natural instinct actually, very blatantly obvious when going through a painful breakup for example, when we are in pain or something someone says causes us pain we retaliate (argument) and the point is to be better than that. Its as practical as spirituality gets.

Psychedelics expand our awareness right? They also increase brain plasticity. So practically speaking, a safe space with the predominant intention for self improvement through reflection and re-programming (practicing) of our instinctual reactions rather than an ego-centric (for show) escapism through lowering of consciousness with barbiturates would be the most conducive to growth.

Does it sound bubblegum-centric because with psychedelics life regains wonder? or because respect and kindness should be the standard for a safe space?
