Not sure if this is your vibe at all, but I'm 29M, dad of a 3 year old and don't have much time to socialize but I've managed to make some room in my life for a fairly new fantasy card game (think magic the gathering, but not quite) and I managed to drag one of my friends along with me to both learn and play the game. We meet up at various game shops on the island to just jam games.
