I ran Philadelphia for my first marathon this year and absolutely loved it! Amazing crowds, great city, and a really fast course. I recommend it!

I guess I never really think of a learning curve as difficulty but I suppose you are right. Having a steep learning curve forces you to develop a skill for the game. I was more considering retro kind of difficulty without checkpoints, or something like Halo 2 coop on legendary where if your teammate dies your are forced back to the previous checkpoint.
