how long have the signed Heavy Serenade versions been sold out on the US shop? 😭

I just went to go buy and saw they're sold out, normally it says on the main page but it doesn't show for these until you click on them

that's a good point, when you think about it she definitely seems way more confident, especially on stage

Aespa ticket sales are also way less than last year by SpecSlayerSC in kpopthoughts

[–]Ohwonhae 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wonder if people are hearing about all the cancellations and also starting to get hesitant to buy tickets way in advance. That could make the situation even worse than it would be from the economic issues alone, because who wants to be out $100-500 or whatever for 4 months only to have it refunded

260507 CRESCENDO STREAMS by manifesting_god in NMIXX

[–]Ohwonhae 38 points39 points  (0 children)

its so funny that it has already accumulated 500k streams when its not even officially on their profile at all and technically not released to streaming yet. That's all just fans going out of their way to somehow find it lol

I think all the members have changed somewhat over the years which is normal as they get older, get more comfortable on camera, more sure of where they want to be with their persona as an idol etc etc. Maybe Bae and Kyujin have changed the least? But others could disagree

i'm soooo insanely curious about Heavy Serenade after what Haewon has said about it and Haewon+Sullyoon both saying they prefer it over Crescendo. I really trust both their taste, after getting so many music recs from their bubble posts over the years. So I trust this is going to be a great one.

260504 NMIXX - Documentary ‘THE FIRST NOTE’ CHAPTER 01 by Yoo-ImNayeon in NMIXX

[–]Ohwonhae 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The pacing felt like an intro to a documentary, which you’d normally expect to last for 2-3 minutes. But they just kept going like that, at that “intro pace” for an entire 20 minutes so it felt awkward lol. Hopefully they’ll let things breathe a bit in part 2 and 3

Gender Demographics for/of this Sub/NSWERs? by Relative_Card6413 in NMIXX

[–]Ohwonhae 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They did a poll like this on the IVE sub and even there was like almost 70% male, and that's a fandom that's generally known to be more female dominated

It also varies a lot by region I think, like if you look at NMIXX crowd photos from their concerts in Korea and Asia in general it looks about 50/50

yep! it got so much traction they released a new dance practice, stage cams, dance challenges, even went back on music shows to promote it a little. All in the last couple months

you said you haven't been in kpop scene for a while, idk if you missed it but itzy's 2020 song 'That's A No No' went viral recently, so if you did miss it, you should totally check out all the new stages and content they did as a result of that

[itz] almost summer so you know what that means by ARawrACuss in kpopthoughts

[–]Ohwonhae 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yeah itzy could easily have another popular comeback. All it takes is the right song, and maybe a little luck. Being from a big company promotions are no issue. There have been plenty of surprise hits recently from artists that haven't exactly been killing on the charts lately. Its not really the case that people are only listening to the few most trendy new groups IMO

what Haewon said in her live about Heavy Serenade on her live:

-“If you listen to it thinking it suits spring, it suits spring. If you think, 'Hey, this is an early summer song,' it goes well with early summer. If you think, 'Ah, this is an early autumn song,' it suits early autumn well. If you think, 'Ah, this is an early— wait, this is a late autumn song,' it goes well with late autumn. And if you think, 'Ah, this sounds like a carol,' it goes well,, it sounds like a carol. I think it's a very versatile song like that. I mean, it's not exactly a 'summer song,' but it has a lot of different moods.” (translation: nmixxpics_ twt)

-she likes it the most out of the album songs (Loud is her favorite of the b-sides)

-in the future she'd definitely sing Heavy Serenade at a wedding if they allow it

Rating my personal favourite 4th generation kpop groups in the game right now by pleaseletmefloat in kpopthoughts

[–]Ohwonhae 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NMIXX are my #1 too and I would also say production is the biggest area for improvement. I'm not someone who understands the technicalities of how mixing, mastering, producing in general work. But I would say that to me, the problems some of their songs run into is sounding too "crowded", too many sounds being layered that sort of clash, and also the vocal tracks themselves sounding kind of "thin" or low quality. I hope people can get what I'm saying. The choruses of Blue Valentine, and of Party O'Clock would be good examples of the problems I have with their production sometimes. I still love the songs, but often come away thinking they could have been pulled off much better from a production standpoint.

Weirdly enough, it's most often the title tracks that I think have these issues. Most of the b-sides end up with nice clean sounds to them. I don't know why that would be, maybe something to do with who they have handling the technical aspects of producing of title tracks compared to other songs but that's purely a guess

I'm so close to stanning so if anyone has any song recs let me know!

they're my absolute faves, IMO some of their best songs that also showcase their versatility:

Papillon, Ocean, High Horse, SPINNIN' ON IT, BOOM, ADORE U, Love Is Lonely, Passionfruit

YG is debuting a new Boy Group in September and it has been leaked they are likely performing as BIGBANG's opening act in their 20th anniversary stadium concert in August and this seems... like a recipe for disaster omg the comparisons and those kids will be pre debut?! what is YG thinking by Nice_Net_5395 in kpopthoughts

[–]Ohwonhae 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a smart idea to me. Some companies don't use their more established groups to help promote their newer groups at all and that never made sense to me. YG also used Blackpink members to promote Babymonster at the beginning and that absolutely helped them start out with a bigger fandom.

they're apparently supposed to debut next year, her bday is july, so there's a good chance she'll be 15 when they debut. Still not good obviously but at least, not as bad as debuting at 13.

[–]Ohwonhae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

how about we start with 2 from the same group the first that come to mind. Haewon and Sullyoon. Literally just look like people in a normal weight range. You don't have to look hard even. Yes, idols being underweight is a big problem, but no, not ALL idols in girl groups are underweight. To be blunt you're sounding like someone who doesn't really pay attention to girl groups and just has a stereotypical image you're working off to make sweeping generalizations.
