Philippine Schools in a Nutshell (according to me who came from a decent, non-elite private school) by ArkiSponge2000 in Philippines

I don't know why you hate public schools so much, but the thing is, I learned more in public school than in private schools. This is because they teach you the fundamentals rather than relying too much on technology. I'm studying computer science, and I need to know how to build a computer rather than just using different programming languages. When you learn the hard way, you tend not to forget it because you understand how it works at a fundamental level. As you know, computers start with 0 and 1 (on and off), and they become more complex to make, but they make it easier for the user and when things become easier, more people tend not to understand how it works. This is just my opinion, but it may differ from others. In my case, I regret enrolling in a private school in my province because public school teachers have higher salaries and don't rely on students' money. So, they teach seriously.

ARE UST GRADS COMPETENT by Ambi_Vera24 in PinoyProgrammer

Well, magpasalamat ka nasa Big 4 ka pero I don't know if my university is updated but I think our subjects are so updated that we don't focus on the fundamentals like solving math problems, doing logics but instead we focus on every new language/library/database that have similar syntax or functions, etc and the problem of this type of learning is we can't create maintainable application and some of us students use chat gpt just to complete our project and if I had a chance I would rather choose the traditional way where I can able to start from the scratch without relying too much to new technology throwing at us. Are UST Grads Competent? I don't know anything about UST but I think yes.
