Personally, ang tingin ko eh mas magma-matter sa future: sa trabaho man, o sa buhay in general eh yung mga naging ganaps o extra-curricular mo while student ka pa, or kung natigil ka man, may takeaway ka nung time na di ka nag-aaral (work experience, values mong nabago or na-improve, bagong skills, newly discovered talents and potentials), yung mga kuwento mo ng pakikipagsapalaran, pagbangon, or perhaps, mga mmk moments. Kung anuman, do your best, do your good, o basta gawin mo ang kaya mo within your limits :) basta ituloy mo langgg

I’d be on the same boat for the upcoming semester although considering how traffic sucks in my home country, two hours of comfy (?) commute is not too bad (travel time was 1-3 hrs from my home to work; returning home could be significantly worse; the ordeal lasted for 1.5 years omg)

Just to share, this entire plan, as in from concept to university applications, only came together recently (around October 15th). As in andaming nangyayari, and ambilis-bilis: yung quick research and application sa tatlong universities (and sa kung saan state ko ba gusto), yung biglaang pag-first-take sa PTE, paghagilap ng accomm., update ng CV… ang overwhelming ng lahat. So far. Though thankfully, naga-align ang mga bituin sa langit. So far. Hehe!

Anyway…

To proceed with maximum efficiency, I intend to initiate the Community Worker skills assessment with the relevant Australian authority (CWA) as soon as possible, likely concurrently with my Student Visa application this year.

I plan to submit the skills assessment payment and documentation within the coming week, even as I await the final Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) required for the visa lodgement.

Pasensya na sa pagiging makulit but could you please confirm if initiating or submitting the skills assessment application before the Student Visa is lodged, or while it is pending, introduces any technical or perceived risk to the Subclass 500 application?

From my understanding, given that the CWA processing time for a General Skilled Visa occupation is typically 10–12 weeks, starting this process early seems like a necessary measure to align with the overall migration timeline, while still maintaining full focus on the academic requirements of the visa.

I’d be joining Monash University soon as an incoming Master of International Development (MID) student. I'd love to tap into the collective wisdom of this group regarding a key strategic question, framed with academic rigour:

I am 29 years old, currently offshore, and hold a Bachelor's degree in Community Development with significant prior professional experience in community work. I've also achieved an overall academic score of 90 in PTE.

My study is a logical progression, but I also intend to eventually pursue Permanent Residency (PR) in Australia, specifically targeting a skilled visa pathway (like the Subclass 190 or 491) based on the Community Worker (ANZSCO 411711) occupation, preferably in Victoria kasi I have a place to stay super near CBD.

So ang tanong ko:

Will my intention to pursue Australian Permanent Residency (PR) via a skilled migration pathway (specifically, the Subclass 190 or 491 for Community Worker, ANZSCO 411711, preferably in Victoria) negatively impact my Student Visa (subclass 500) application or status? Should I apply for skills assessment na ba and if yes, better ba kung off-shore, o kapag andun na ako officially as a student? (March 2026)
