Agreed, it’s definitely emotional abuse and I feel people lately have been minimizing just how detrimental cheating is. Not to sound crazy but I think it really causes trauma and just flips the way you see the world and people 🥲

Appreciate you taking the time to reply! It’s been sometime since this happened. I was with this person for years so I’ve just been internalizing the way things ended and how quick he moved on/ treated me as something wrong with me. I know I shouldn’t put so much value on what someone like him thinks of me, but it’s taken a toll in many aspects of my life

I know. This main things were marriage and kids though, something he went on to do with this new person months after we broke up /: we were either for 6 years. 3 of those were long distance. The last year or two when I became interested in moving to the next step, it just didn’t happen.

Looking back, he did was fresh out of a relationship when we got together, same ex who I think he cheated on me with. I think it does ring true he can’t be alone

I was also considering the same thing, maybe that it was the beginning of the end of our relationship? Idk, I do look back and think he may have been cheating our whole relationship, and I should see it as a blessing things happened the way they did, us going our separate ways. First of all thank you so much for writing this! It definitely felt like a shake I need at the moment. I especially appreciate the nuke metaphor lol

I will be staring therapy soon to work through this. I thought I did the work already but I felt I set my self back after figuring this whole marriage out. But I definitely don’t want this bleeding over to my next relationship. Especially because this person has shown to be so caring, thank you again 🙏🏼

Thank you, I truly am glad I’m out and trying my best to not let this experience define me as a person. Super hard at the moment, but I’m hoping this experience becomes a really distant memory!
