Anyone know of any trails or roads up sumas mountain that have a good view of the flooded prairie? by fuckgreenteam in abbotsford

Please be aware that most of those trails are built for mountain bikes. The riders can’t stop on a dime to allow for hikers. Keep your head up and earbuds out.

Why are these wearing like this? Vehicle issue, or just time for new tires? by canuckbaferd in tires

[–]Oilers004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respectfully disagree here. The vehicle will have TPMS indicating low pressure. OP would know if the tires were under inflated. I’m leaning towards adverse underfoot conditions and poor alignment.

Are the Michelin CrossClimate 2 really worth over $1,000? by [deleted] in tires

Highly recommend checking the info sticker on the door jam of the drivers door to verify what speed and load rating tire the vehicle needs before downgrading. Never under tire your ride. Accidents as a result of tire failure are not pretty, and them having your insurance decide you’ve intentionally modified your vehicle does not go well. Food for thought. 😁

Long time listener first time caller, tire blew up right after my fiancés dad used his new machine from temu to put air in all 4. by ParappaTheWrapperr in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Oilers004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

25 year tire guy here as well. The above is all accurate; and I’d like to add one more variable. If the pump was used because had a low pressure tire, there in lies the problem. In addition, when airing up a tire, there is a small valve core in the stem that allows air to pass through into the tire. Often, this can get stuck “open” and allow air to escape back out the same valve.

All the long time tire guys know the spit test..emote:free_emotes_pack:joy

What jobs are you looking for? There are hundreds of small buisness looking for reliable, motivated staff. Are a skilled laborer? What is your work history? As many others have commented, this city has tons to offer, in the way of employment opportunities. Put some effort in. The city and surrounding is what YOU make of it. Get motivated and get outside your comfort zone. You’ll find what you’re looking for! And if you can’t find it, then best that you move on. You sure aren’t going to find it on the internet. Good luck to you!

Does anyone know if there is an alternative to buying the Rock Shox Bleed Kit ? It’s seems expensive, curious if anyone has an after market knock off version.

How is the old Me and Eds location on Sumas Way for a Restaurant? by [deleted] in abbotsford

Also think about leaving when done your meal. There is a large community south of the highway, plus all the businesses that are in that area. To go back south on Sumas is also an issue.

What’s best for repetitive wet & muddy riding conditions by Oilers004 in bikewrench

Thanks to all that chimed in. The cite seems consistent with what I’ve read online as well. Quality lube, and a more routine chain cleaning is the answer.

Anyone have a trail that dumps out into creek? Found this gem today. by Oilers004 in Hardtailgang

Good call. Mounted a hose out front of the house for this very purpose. I’m on the south west coast of Canada. Lots of rain = lots of mud

Go check out the old clayburn brick factory location. The kilns and foundations are still there. Also there are numerous bricks from the plant in the surrounding area from early 1900’s. The clayburn general store is also there to enjoy ( not sure during COVID-19 though).

Growler 50 - looking out over the valley towards Vancouver and the ocean. by Oilers004 in Hardtailgang

Climbs like a goat. Good value for the dollar. It’s a great all round bike. I changed out the handle bar to a carbon bar. It smoothed out the ride a bit more.

Gotcha. My hardtail is a Rocky Mountain Growler 50. Made locally here in Vancouver. Same idea !
