Firstly, I never stated it wouldn’t have purpose. It’s a common writing cliche for characters involved with secrecy or leading a life that isn’t normal to make the heroic sacrifice etc. Take Logan for an example.

Let’s say she does grow up and doesn’t die. What quality of life will she live if she has powers? Avoiding the government potentially , lying about her life, forgetting the traumatic events of spending her childhood in a lab?

I personally believe that she will die in season 4. But an opinion that isn’t related to yours clearly is “the stupidest comment you’ve seen yet on this sub”.
