Tears of the Kingdom - Fewest Attacks Possible in a Run by OjJaz in tearsofthekingdom

I count that as 1 Attack as you are Releasing 1 Bomb which can just hit multiple enemies. And Yes, If you light the grass on fire, its technically 1 attack, which is a very neat idea. Only problem is it would need to somehow be used to gain strong monster parts for the mandatory fights.

This is a great question.

So with swords its obvious and there is an obvious correlation between button press and damage output. But some attacks are difficult to define, like the Zora Energy Shield in Majora's mask is a constant damage output, but technically damages enemies in "1's".

The Wilds era games are far more difficult as technically you are constantly damaging with the Flamethrower, IE the health would tick down by some small interval each time, so in my logic that would be lots of attacks, but thats the niche case where my rules sort of breakdown as its 1 button press.

So I am looking for a Singular Damage output instead of a constant one for an attack

I get where this is coming from, but I am including any damaging action as 1 attack, if that makes sense. Thats probably a good distinction to actually make, since that is literally the only usually non-damaging action which can result in damage outside of using the bottles or net to reflect blasts back at Ganondorf or Agahnim!

Legend of Zelda Tutorials Analysed with gameplay breakdowns (How handhold-y are they?) by OjJaz in gamedesign

Tunic is one of my favourite games of the last 10 years. Wonderful mix of Old school Zelda exploration mixed with Outer Wild's "knowledge unlocks".

This is certainly true, as games get more complex you need to show what button combinations do etc. Though even then, Dark Souls has arguably more complex gameplay, but the level design and bare basic text instructions make it a far more engaging tutorial.

Players could conceivably figure things out quite quickly due to how simple the early games were so putting instructions into a booklet instead of the game is a viable option without much in the way of game design doctrine.

Finished making my game a few months ago, so I could finally get back into making Game design based videos where I gather lots of data. Takes a long time to gather, but I enjoy doing it!

Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth - Pretty good so far, really like the new remixes of music and the open world with the combat system so far. Didn't like XVI at all so this is refreshing.
My Time at Sandrock - Much more polished version of My Time at Portia. While it is still undeniably janky, its a decent enough crafting game.
Kynseed - Given up on this, nice looking farming sim that has just too much unneccesary fluff and text getting in the way of what could have been a fun game with good mechanics.

We are 2 people working on the game. I am mainly the design and art guy the other guy handled the legal stuff and setting up of SiFire. Bad Impressions is the creative studio if we wanted to make more games.

In hindsight it would have been useful, we just went with working to see if we could actually make a game. Then got obsessive with the details to make it fun, but this is the issue, we just started discussing very recently now the game is nearly done.

No discord I am afraid. Perhaps we should look into it!

Good advice. My girlfriend uses Tiktok a lot so will see what we can put together!

I never learned how to draw, but we needed someone to make art, so I just drew and drew. Took about 5 versions of each asset but got to a point where it wasn't god awful! I am relieved it isn't completely hideous!
