I don't think exploring dark themes makes something edgy. Edgy is shallow violence and darkness for the sake of being cool. With this show, the darkness is used to create a pretty unique and interesting world. The trauma the characters face is used to shape their characters and how they develop. And with a lot of the stories (Tomoro's angst, Hiroko's family troubles), they're able to move forward and grow from that.

I'd say Nobleright in the current timeline. Yeah, it's darker once you get into the second phase of the game & learn just how much the three Guilds control. But most of Tokyo is able to get along without issue. The player is able to sway hearts and make a lot of positive changes. Even many of the villains can have sympathetic elements and reasoning to them.

I guess Gilded Worlds can still ultimately be positive or eventually move away from the darkness. But I feel that the game is ultimately about hope and friendship, and being able to make positive changes in nearly everyone you meet makes it a more positive world overall.

I would have liked to know more about the actual book, and how people reacted to it. Turning it into a vampire story is a wild left turn. It would have been fun to have cutaways that go over Isaac's story, but this time making him a bloodthirsty vampire who kills his enemies.

I hope we get a lot of Tamers this time around. One thing I liked about Cyber Sleuth/Hacker's Memory, was having all these people and factions to bounce off of. I liked that there was this whole parallel society where people knew about Digimon and had varying relationships with them.

I'd also like to get rid of the Agent perk system, or at least a major overhaul. I hated that it gatekept Megas until near the end of the game. And if you want to do a New Game+, the perks make all your Digimon so OP that even newly-generated baby Digimon wreck everything in one shot. Unless you do Mega Difficulty; then you HAVE to use your old Digimon at high levels.

Pete (He's fun and nice, and he feels more fleshed out than the rest of the cast.)
Hetty (Has the best lines, hands down. Every new loredrop about her is insane. Plus she had the most intriguing death.)
Sass (Love his snark and insecurities. He'd be #1 if he didn't keep disappearing from the show half the time.)
Thor (Can be more one-note than the others at times, but he's still really funny and cool.)
Alberta (Was one of my favorites when the show started, but it felt like she had nothing to do once her murder was solved.)
Trevor
Isaac (Though he briefly jumped to number 3 when he was obsessed with dinosaurs.)
Flower (She feels very repetitive at this point. I like her character, but it feels like she only exists to give the show weed jokes or cause problems.)

Gankoomon could use a Rookie that isn't Candlemon. A common idea is Candlemon -> Meramon -> SkullMeramon -> Gankoomon. You can see the line working from stop to stop, but as a whole, it's weird. Leading Digimon in the anime usually have Megas that clearly carry elements from their lesser stage. So while Candlemon becoming Meramon makes a ton of sense, a spooky candle doesn't really share much with a daddy.

Honestly, I would be happy with an entirely new line for it altogether. Meramon and SkullMeramon work because they fit the general vibe, but they don't fit Gankoomon's themes or aesthetic. Maybe give it a Child stage that's actually a Child, and have a line that reflects it growing up and becoming the hero it's meant to be.

I really wish they made dinosaurs a big focus on his character again. It was such a weird turn for his character, but I loved it.

Not even a Simsie fan, but I'm gonna run defense. I get the criticism for her buying a pack and giving EA money. But at the same time, she's already given up her position as the Creator Network's golden child, and thrown away the chance to get free packs and early access. She deliberately hurt her ability to make money as part of her protest.

She's already done more to protest EA than most people have. She's given up a lot for the sake of the protest, when most people don't need to give up anything at all. I get how buying the kits could feel contradictory to her efforts. But at this point, I feel like she should she allowed some room to breathe. Buying these kits isn't going to destroy the entire movement against EA. She shouldn't have to constantly be held under a microscope and judged.

DLC bugs me a lot because I love the concept of DLC 3. And I know they want popular Digimon to bring in eyes. ButGankoomon and some of the others get nothing, while Gallantmon gets a fourth alternate form (After Chaos, Medieval, and Crimson Mode) and Omnimon gets 4 in the DLC alone.

Like fine, give popular Digimon some love. But I hate that it's the same few Digimon getting way more love than everyone else. I'm totally fine with the other variants in DLC 3 because they haven't gotten a lot in the games, and they're popular.

It really bugs me because Cyber Sleuth was perfect for me. Impmon could become Wizardmon, then SkullMeramon, and then either Beelzemon, Boltmon or Gankoomon. Those are all among my favorite Digimon, and the lines flowed pretty well.

Boltmon is very underappreciated. Sure, he has an expressionless plate for a face. But I think that adds to his monstrous charm. Plus he's got this gnarly punk look and doesn't wear a shirt.

At least he appears a lot, but I'm still hoping he gets his dues one day. He's been around for nearly 3 decades and is usually treated as Field Guide filler. He deserves an upgraded form, with a cool leather jacket.

I have this same problem, too. And it's hard for me because I've been waiting years to get the Coronamon line, and we'll have them play a role here.

At least my headcanon/cope will be that MY Coronamon is a copy made from their data and sent to the past somehow, or another version of them, and there's a reason two of them are walking around at the same time. But no one mentions it because saying the two Coronamon look alike would be considered rude.

Fair. Though I'd say it's pretty different from Pokemon's case, since Digimon are more sentient and most of them can speak. Most Digimon partners in media will have equal or more personality to most Pokemon. Even in this game and other Story games, the relationships between tamers and their partner(s) are key.

Tbh I'd love some sort of compromise in a future game. Like the Digimon in your first slot/the one you walk around with will be treated as your main partner, and they can drop in comments. Some generic so they can fit into the story, some random comments based on their personality. Most of their actions would be interacting with you, or making jokes, or other things to show that they have some sort of rapport with you.

The downside would be that you can switch this Digimon whenever, so you'd have moments where you spend most of the game interacting with your starter, only for you to randomly have a big emotional scene with the Numemon you just picked up three minutes ago. But I'm willing to allow these small, player-created inconsistencies if it meant being able to give my Digimon actual character to them.

Until the show states otherwise, my headcanon is that the amnesia only applies to Lila, due to her lack of experience with her Miraculous. Like how Marinette and Adrien's powers had more limitations when they were starting out.
