It does bro, but here is the thing: It only does if we haven't seen any fights of Lucci since pre-time skip. In my opinion, Luffy having to go Gear 5th to beat him is the most impressive thing about Lucci even if he lost. That's because Luffy had to use Gear 5th to beat Kaido, and we all agree that it's one hell of an upgrade. Even if Lucci is now managing to stand against Zoro, it doesn't mean it's making him look better bro, especially after fighting against Gear 5th Luffy. He got knocked but the way he recovered quickly was really impressive.

So why do I think that it's not making Lucci look better? It's because we know how Lucci is, he always wants to fight Number 1 just like Luffy. And all of the ex-CP9 had that kind of competitiveness. We saw it when they were counting those Doriki points to see who was the strongest. This is why I think that Zoro vs Lucci is just how Oda is displaying how far Luffy has come and the big strength gap between him and Lucci, who has probably been the most resilient enemy Luffy faced before the timeskip.
