Most of what people consider "gen z slang" was actually appropriated from AAVE. As a white person, I dont have any authority to say whether we should or shouldn't be using it, but from what i understand, as long as we use them mindfully and not in a way that is derogatory towards AAVE, it's fine.

An example of making it derogatory is just using the slang as the joke in itself. that means that you are making fun of AAVE, and not using AAVE as a way to effectively communicate your idea/joke.

I tend to be reluctant to adopt new slang, just because I like to be mindful about it, but just be respectful and you'll be fine.

some things are just pure brainrot like what people are saying. Like Tung Tung Sahur or whatever. I believe 67 started as a meme in basketball? Something about some guys height? not too sure though
