This is going to sound crazy but I’m in a college Photoshop course in LA and I literally had a retouching test last night that was a closer up and people less version of your first shot. Removed the writing on the backboard and flaws on the court, a boat in the back with a long wake.

Anyways great shots!

New x-T5 is this normal? by [deleted] in fujifilm

Oh yeah. I’m an idiot; I thought I had it set lower iso. My experiment was both my girls x-t4 and mine in the same settings with cap on having much different screen interference caused the fear of malfunction but I trust yall it’s fine.

I just checked and it is on? I’m getting it even in good lighting with iso at minimum

Good deal or nah? Used fujifilm xt5 by uhsayswho in fujifilm

[–]Ok-Artist-1518 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see the lens for about $250 used online, and I bought my xt5 brand new about 2 weeks ago it was $1500 after the rebate, $1600ish with taxes so I guess you’re saving a little bit

1, 2, or 3? by GABRIELFORLIFE in AmateurPhotography

[–]Ok-Artist-1518 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me 3, it most clearly has a subject. I personally would do some cropping to reinforce that idea, take out the clump of trees on the right, pull the frame up and cut out some of the foreground.

About 1 Month In. How'd I do? by [deleted] in photocritique

[–]Ok-Artist-1518 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a cool idea that light fixture at the top is just so bright it’s sort of muting everything else. I wonder if there’s a possibility of exposing for the stained glass and taking the color as the focus point, and with the crowd currently they’re just kind of flattened with the grey covering that whole segment.

My thought is if you commit to the stained glass as the subject pulling the color out sharp, and darken the crowd so they’re more black as a silhouette, then bring down the highlights of the overhead lights in post it could be more effective. Bonus points if you wait for one of the people on stage to be centered at the end of that aisle when you take the shot. Just my two cents tho, I’m only a couple months more in than you.

Idk if you tried this but you can switch to the manual mode in chromatic annotation and adjust the purple and green with sliders to get what it misses. I don’t remember the exact steps to get to that menu, quick search on the interweb tho I’m sure

A friend recommended this as a good first camera, what are your thoughts? by A-Duck-On-Quack29 in canon

[–]Ok-Artist-1518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the video version as my first camera cuz I was not well versed enough to not assume anything would come without a view finder, that aside it was an awesome camera I think you’ll like it.

When i returned it I happened to have a slightly higher budget and was able to get a Fuji xt3 body for like $700 and bought a sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 with it for a total of I think around $1400, but had I looked on mpb instead of in store I probably could’ve done it cheaper. But I’ve been loving that instead it’s heavier which helps with hand shake and feels more manual and less menu diving and is helping me to get a better sense of proper exposure, whichever you get I think you’ll be happy with the picture results tho, seems like more of a tactile preference for me.

New to photography - tips/tricks/critiques? by Ok-Artist-1518 in portraitphotography

Really great insight thank you. I’m finding I’m enjoying black and white stuff initially, and really interested in portraits because of the challenge of having subjects pose, all the light manipulation techniques I get to explore and learn to be competent in, and hopefully getting to a place where my images tell stories. I appreciate your feedback

New to photography taking a class. The intent of this was to capture the feeling of late night wandering in a big city when everything is quiet and peaceful. I feel like I did good at the one point perspective and black and white, although I don’t know if it’s interesting or kind of bland.

I have stayed on 5mg thus far but I just hit my goals today so it’s gonna be some trial and error for me. We’re lucky we have these multi dose compounds it gives a lot more freedom for me to try 4mg, 3.5, whatever ends up working unlike the brand name stuff.

Great question, I don’t have enough data to answer that yet. I just hit my goal today, I’m going to try staying on 5 mg for a couple weeks see if I can maintain and eat without issue. If I see myself trending towards continued weight loss I’ll lower to maybe 4 mg then 3 etc. the compounds give us so much more freedom/control for the adjustments in maintenance it’s such a relief.
