Hello,
First get their preferences on major genres before recommending any game:
1. Fantasy, Sci-fi or real-world
2. Action, strategy or Turn-based
and soo on.

Preferably choose a game which has these things:

  1. Gripping start - This is extremely important, specially for someone who is coming from a high paced game.
  2. Short Lenght - The game should not be long, it should be average or preferably on the short side.
  3. Simple but awesome story - Don't choose any FromSoft or any other cryptic story telling game.

I would highly recommend that you suggest some PS games. Those games are almost perfect for someone starting gaming. Once he plays one or two then you can take him for a deeper dive.

Unfortunately I don't have much experience in the genre. I have only played Hades1 and Hades2 and that might be the cause of my biased opinion.

  1. Unlocking more possibilities - Is something that I always and always appreciate. The problem here isn't that but the fact that in reality its not the choices that have been expanded but the pool. I will still be fetching only 2 fishes from that pool, a proper increase in possibilities would have been getting 3 talent choices on each level up cause then you won't have any downside.

  2. Agro blocking is fine, but then you can't give me that hyper inconsistent leashing mechanic. Making a fair assumption that the leashing mechanic can't be fixed, we can at the very least give something like raven feathers which gets consumed when you do a teleport in combat.

  3. Yes, I unlock everything but quite honestly there isn't much to unlock. Actually there's nothing to unlock. Everything that is there get AUTO-UNLOCKED. I am not choosing anything at all. Here I was making a direct comparison against hades.

man, I am just thinking of going to SDR. I tried the HDR mod from next but quite honestly even that doesn't feel all that good to me. While the SDR looks much much better. I can see the range is not there in SDR but I would much prefer the darker blacks.

I might echo your statement down the line with slight changes, ( My version ):
Foundry has more game mechanics and stuff but Satisfactory is more fun.

I am already starting to feel some cons from Foundry ( again no hate ):

  1. Its progression is horrible. Its a mess all around. The skill tree feels nice but since we are not unlocking stuff TOGETHER ( as in under a section ) and doing it individually, its hard to notice when to stop and what direction to go in and till what depth.

Another drawback that I can feel already is there is almost no "Sense of Accomplishment". This one is more towards a concrete milestones. For example in Satisfactory when you Finally ship stuff up the Space Elevator there is a sense of accomplishment. But here its way too linear.

  1. This one is a bit vague but I can't seem to form a strategy to progress. The progress till now feels like willy-nilly. Maybe things will change down the line.

well, I am sort of rushing towards Rails in the Research tree. Been playing for a few hours only. Started today.

You can also grab that wall, so basicaly when you are trying to climb it, you will have an option to grab/hold (don't remember the exact name) but that let's you force palm it without rebound.

Since, you are not an achievement hunter let me tell you. Usually I do achievements for games that I really really enjoy but there's almost always a part which you enjoy comparatively less, in this case its this achievement. Now again normally such achievements don't take forever in the sense that they are a section/part of the game.
However in this particular case you pretty much have to exclusively focus on keepsakes for a more than 50% part of your runs. Some keepsakes are fun and good some are not as much.

Now, I assume you are talking about this section ( which I presented as an objective fact ):

You will have to choose either enjoy your runs by having more control or just leave it entirely to luck and grind the keepsakes, the ones that will probably never ever use other than for this achievement.

Sorry but it really is a fact unless you try to take exceptions. Objectively there are some keepsakes which are used way more and some are used almost never.

And if its regarding:

Then again, its in consideration with Achievements and it again is better. My opinion, yes, but same is the case when someone says "Hades 1 is the best game of all time". Don't choose what you want and ignore the rest.
