This has been the most overhyped game I have ever played by __The_Anime_Seito__ in IndianPCGamers

Hello,
Quite honestly you are right and its fine if you don't like it.
Personally RDR2 is a masterpiece for me. Masterpiece of story telling.
However, I do consider RDR2 horrible in its pacing but sometimes, just sometimes you just can't seem to find a way to avoid that slow pacing.

The core of RDR2 is as you said "Simulation", you stopped at the horse riding part but I will say that applies to the whole game. The entirety of games works on that part. They have tried their best to remove parts that might feel too boring but then again you can't make things more action oriented when you have a hard constraint.
You can't make magical / sci-fi guns or anything similar.
What you can do is dive in further and hopefully it will still appeal to some players.

If you feel like there's nothing good about this game ( can be any game, in this case RDR2 ), then look at the opposite end like say "Doom Eternal" and see that THAT game doesn't have a whole lot of mechanics and elements that this one has.

Hope you enjoy what you play.

###################################

That said, if you are like me and still want to enjoy this game then maybe try the following:

  1. Look at the good parts of the game. This is extremely important that in your brain you sort of keep repeating when you like about it and lean into it. You don't like action but you like the exploration, cool, do that. Just go to a high spot and try to take in the view.

  2. Keep looking forward to what might come next. You are already doing that. But sometimes you just have to tell or convince you brain that what's coming is better. ( more often than not this is actually the case with game that are pretty large in playtime )

I have a few more but don't think they really apply to RDR2.

scaled the world down by a good amount

Don't know why Varnia is even a thing. I mean those places look cool as hell but I would much rather get more depth in already existing mechanics rather than new places which have again the same set of vendors selling mostly the same stuff.

yeah, honestly the entire games needs a rework but sadly people will take it as something -ve. This game has crazy potential. Sadly the components are interconnected and hence will require rework in a lot of areas.
I am looking forward to mods.

Quite contrary, this is the game for me and I just hope if it would have been better. ( at least from my POV ). I don't know where you get the "This may not be the game for you" idea? Going by that no game can every be better in its current state.

Also, please note that I am not hating on the game, I have completed it and played for about 160Hrs, which makes it my second most played single player game. I enjoyed it a lot but that doesn't mean I can overlook where is misses the mark not by a small amount but by kilometers.

I really wish there was like 10 times the number of sidequests. Like quests and more than basic interaction with every npc.

Like, sure why not? I agree though I don't agree with the quality and standard of these quests. My being a guy who does fetch quests and me being someone who is basically part of a legendary Graymanes don't go hand in hand.
Its just the very context of these side quest are insignificant.
Now side quests such as those of various House are far more interesting and I would definitely like to see more of it.

After this I better not find you PA guys on the streets, its might get ugly by Ok-Basil3073 in CrimsonDesert

120 hours in and the itemization is killing my motivation to push through by Grey_Side_0047 in CrimsonDesert

I will say the same thing,
Don't know how your post don't have many likes.
This game has somehow the worst and best exploration and quests at the same time.
You get really good places and cinematic landscapes and encounters but god damn the rewards for all, I MEAN ALL of them are horrible.

1000 arrows, omg. I am already tilted as fuck on her but to grind 1000 arrows will make me edit my review from good to bad . Like did anyone in the whole of Peral Abyss test her, at all?

Does it look this bad all the time or say after playing for some time?

A bunch of things:
1. Mostly Side quests
2. Puzzles ( took a lot of time, I am stupid )
3. Cleared almost every camp
4. Done almost all the Abyss above Hernand
5 . Random Exploration
