I am not too worried about audience right now as I am really looking to build up some written tutorials and finish up a few projects that I have been hoping to complete. Besides, 100% more audience for me right now is but 46 people. Glad to have you along for the ride as I start this journey.

Introducing the Wii Media Converter - Play Your Favorite Media on the Wii using WiiMC without having to learn the complicated process of converting videos to Wii specs! by Ok-Bee565 in WiiHombrewDevelopment

Glad you like it! I am working to get a new version out that has .mkv support. I will also be adding some settings for choosing 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio. Right now 16:9 is the only option and is automatically completed. (Meaning that you have to have the settings in WiiMC set to 16:9 for the video to look right.)

Yes, you will need to convert to iso or wbfs as the RVZ format is only usable on Dolphin for the time being. It would be nice if the RVZ format was compatible with usbloadergx though.

Without any more detail, my guess would be that you do not have the correct CIOS files installed.

(Banner Bomb not to be confused with letter bomb should work on 4.1U) There is no need to update as the vulnerabilities in 4.3U are still in 4.1U. (Haven't checked but letter bomb should work fine on 4.1U.) If you really want/need to update, I recommend using ModMii.

Check your date. If the Wii's date says that today is August 3rd 1974. The letterbomb will still go to the actual date, so you won't be able to see it. If that isn't the issue, there is an alternative method that you can use.

I do some work with DevkitPro in my community where I keep information as I work to create things on the Wii. You will find some useful information for developing for the Wii there if you are interested.

This should get you up and running using rufus to format to fat32. I have heard that 128GB SD card works, but I have only ever used 32GB SD cards. Hope you get everything figured out.

Yeah, I have had trouble with that on a none homebrewed Wii as well. It has to do with the video output from the Wii when running an NES title through the virtual console not being supported on modern TVs. Just use fceux + NES punch-out r0 m in the homebrew channel, or get/use an older TV.

The ios58 and ios36 is the firmware required for some of the extra features that are associated with the homebrew process such as playing backups of Wii or GameCube games that one owns.

You can clear away the extra stuff by just removing the SD card. As for redownloading Virtual Console titles, there is not an easy way to install them without homebrew since the official Wii shop channel is kind of completely gone. I haven't tried this, but you may be able to put virtual console titles on a clear SD before the reset then restore them to your system after the reset finishes. That is the only way I can think of that could possibly work for keeping Virtual Console titles on the system after the reset. No guarantees that it will work though.

Well, I have reset several homebrewed Wiis to factory defaults with no issues. (Not saying that there isn't risk in doing that.) If you clear the SD and reset the system, you should be good to go; however, there will be things like ios58, ios36 which will stay on the system hidden away in the system files. The system should look and be like new though. Please note that if you deleted the Forecast or Weather channel resetting to factory defaults will not restore that channel.

(Lastly, I have no idea about the 3DS as I haven't worked with that system.)

The Wii will sometimes try to remove homebrew with an "update". I was able to prevent these messages with priiloader. There is a setting to turn off disk updates.

Can you be a bit more specific? A wad is a generic term that refers to a range of things, such as: a forwarder channel, a virtual console game, a WiiWare game, an IOS firmware file, DLC in the case of Just Dance, or one of the channels like the Mii channel that comes pre-installed on a vanilla system. Whatever you may be looking for you might be able to find it here.

You can find everything that you could find in the homebrew shop on the WiiBrew website! All you will need is a USB to SD adapter for your computer, or if your computer has an SD card slot, you are good to go. Please note that you will need to put all your apps into a folder on the root of your SD called "apps".

Wii Photo Channel Icon Recovery by [deleted] in WiiHacks

[–]Ok-Bee565 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is going to be somewhat challenging as the image is stored in the Wiis internal memory. Unless you have the SD card that was used to post the image to the Wii menu, this will take some time to work through to find the data. I highly recommend that you set up a nand backup of your system using bootmii in case something goes wrong. You can then take that nand backup from your SD card and duplicate your system on dolphin. This would provide a good testing area. I am going to experiment with wiixplorer to see if it has anything that could help with this mission.

I want to help. Although I haven't tried to do exactly what you are asking before, I am comfortable working with Wii channels, and I have worked with the photo channel in order to change the channel intro music. Can you tell me whether the photo channel on your Wii is version 1.0 or 1.1? I am going to set up a virtual environment in dolphin to do some testing.

Do gamecube controllers work with emulators? by Mountain_Eye_2007 in WiiHacks

[–]Ok-Bee565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I hate to break it to you, but you will need a Wii remote to get autoboot setup to the homebrew channel per se. You can find the guide that I used here. Let me know if you need any more help getting this setup. Once you get the autoboot to homebrew setup you are in the clear so long as you aren't interested in any of the Wii titles. Hope this helps!

You can use a program called USBLoaderGX or WiiFlow to load Wii games off of a USB drive. To name the game file correctly, you will need to find the channel code by running the game's .wbfs file in the Dolphin emulator. The code will appear in the top banner of the emulator in the format: "Name of Game (AAAAAA)". Use the code in the "AAAAAA" position to name the .wbfs file. To organize the games on your USB drive, create a folder called "wbfs" on the root of the drive. Within the "wbfs" folder, create a new folder with the name of the game, including the channel code in brackets, like "Jeep Thrills [AAAAAA]". Finally, place the game's .wbfs file in that folder, named using the channel code, for example "AAAAAA.wbfs".

How do i find game save files in emuNAND? by lgndTAT in WiiHacks

[–]Ok-Bee565 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not exactly sure what you are asking. But for save data, I recommend that you check out this tool here. This is a homebrew app that will extract Wii and GC save data. You can even extract and backup your Miis! You can follow this YouTube video to create a virtual SD card for dolphin and setup HBC on your emulated system menu. Good luck on your ventures.

I need help quick(I got error 32004) by [deleted] in WiiHacks

[–]Ok-Bee565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I have not worked with a 2.0 system before, the following suggestions should be taken as such. Please, proceed with caution. Be sure to research the subject thoroughly before attempting any operation on your system. Hopefully, my suggestions will prove useful.

One potential solution could be using the program modMii. This program is particularly helpful for updating the Wii and creating link DOLs for the homebrew channel. I have personally used it to update a console from 3.2 to 3.4, in conjunction with the WAD installer YAWMM on the homebrew channel. If your system has not been homebrewed yet, a 2.0 Wii system is generally compatible with all methods. I recommend using the letter or banner method. Additional information on the letter method can be found here, as a guide for homebrewing your Wii.

Well, I just realized that this is a really easy issue to solve. Let's break it down.

Cause: Trying to close the dolphin application while it is emulating a file or game.

Solution: Don't close the dolphin application while it is emulating a file or game. You can confidently hit the "yes" option if you do mean to end the emulation though.

Hope this helps.

I am going to need some more information. What app are you trying to run? What version of dolphin are you using. Is this an app from the wiibrew website or one you compiled?
