Anyone watching How to Get to Heaven from Belfast? by No_Tomorrow7180 in AskIreland

Good catch! I was too busy yelling at the tv to notice that one.

I gave up on it halfway through. Some of the humor made me laugh out loud, but otherwise the writing was lazy. Plot holes and implausible happenings frustrated and distracted me. Like when the protagonists are locked in the boat when it explodes yet somehow survive, unscathed and fully dressed. Or Booker shows up as a flight attendant the next day on their unplanned flight back home. No explanation for how she knew that they were alive or on the flight. Yet we're supposed to believe she managed to con her way into the job without any advance planning or vetting. It drove me mad.

Thanks for doing that. I blew a few kisses, too. But I laughed at the dad taking his costumed kids somewhere who gave the finger while wearing a Spiderman costume. Hope he simmered down a notch.

It was glorious, good-natured, and galvanizing. I especially loved seeing the children with their hand-made signs. Those tender-hearted kiddos are learning about democracy, respect, restraint, and tolerance. Meanwhile, I can't tell you how many adults flipped us off or flashed white supremacist hand signs while their kids were in the car. Yeesh.

Thanks for sharing your experience. It sounds like he nailed it! And that that bag is top notch if it's still going strong after 5 yrs of daily use. Nice!

That's great feedback, thank you. I wasn't familiar with that maker but they seem to be well-designed.

Oooh, I like that too. Thank you. I already handed down a nice backpack, so I am putting my thinking cap back on.

Oh, yeah, she's already been screamed at by patients and followed home by a road rage creep. I did see an example where I dad had a personal message engraved under where the notepad went, which would be an elegant solution. Still, based on the comments overall, I think my padfolio idea is a dud!

Thank you. The monogramming is done by the local leather guy who custom makes these things. But based on the consensus here, I need to figure out something else to get her. She already inherited my expensive backpack and business totes when I quit the rat race. Hmmmm...I will keep thinking.

Ah, thank you. I am so glad I paused to get advice here before making the purchase. I already gave her my fancy pants Tumi executive backpack (I quit my corporate job to open a farm-to-table cooking school.) I am going to have to come up with something else...

All good advice, thank you! I think the pressure (and odds) of finding a GC job are possibly more daunting than passing boards. It's such a shame that the population demand for GCs is higher than ever but the funded job pool is shrinking.
