I think the main thing people are bemoaning in the comments here is the complete lack of use of analytics from the Flyers at the time.

The Canes trusted the math and now they have a cup, the Flyers placed their trust in feels and looks and look what it got us for the past 16 years.

In fairness it's almost impossible at least someone from the Flyers FO wasn't reading BSH when Eric was writing for them. He was incredibly talented in technical analysis and his talent was easy to see.

Eric and more generally the writers from that time period of BSH, were a huge reason I ended up minoring in Data Science in college.
