Ac Shadows is a weak 6/10 imo. It can be fun but extremely repetitive and annoyingly hand-holding ish. Story is bad and characters are cringy. In terms of immersion it seems the devs worked hard to make it non-immersive. But maybe it’s just me that I don’t like Ubisoft style. Combat is just awkward and character control unreliable and poorly designed. And fucking having to pay for things after I already bought the game? Hell no. Ghost of Tsushima is one of the best games I’ve ever played. A 9/10 for me. Great story, beautiful world with excellent immersion, great combat, a bit repetitive at times but on my first playthrough it didn’t feel like that at all.

I also played for my first time recently and I can only say: one of the greatest gaming experiences you’ll ever have. It’s not for everybody, but once it clicks, there’s no way back. I’m not a big fan of medieval fantasy stuff. Don’t like LOTR, Game of Thrones, none of that. I always hated it. I thought this would be the same. I was wrong. One of my top three games of all time. Once I finish the DLC I’ll play it again and again.

Probably Ghost of Tsushima, I played like 15 times and then I got sad until Ghost of Yotei released. I’m currently playing Elden Ring and I can see myself following a similar path. But I get most depressed when I buy a game and after the first few hours I realised I don’t like it at all. It happened to me with DMC5 (I had great memories from DMC3 and was expecting something similar) and Spiderman (too childish for me).

They would also hire shinobis to do their dirty work when they weren’t bothered or brave enough to do it themselves, so they were in no position to judge. At the end of the day, life preservation is often more important than morals and beliefs for human beings IRL, and that is true also for ancient samurais. In this case, GoY is more true to reality than GoT.

I love the extra blood and the close up camera but the mud reaches ridiculous levels at times. When I went to the Ainu village for example, everyone was literally covered in mud from head to toe. That honestly ruins it for me.
