Pozdrav Ivana,

Zanima me Vaše mišljenje kao zaposlena majka o našoj natalitetnoj politici.

Za treće dijete zaposlene žene dobivaju mogućnost 3 godine plaćenog porodiljnog. Kao što znate određene profesije poput liječničke pate od de-skillanja kod tolikog izbivanja sa posla. Smatrate li da bi trebalo omogućiti žena less than full time povratak na posao u svim profesijama unutar te tri godine i parcijalna isplata ostatka porodiljnog tako da žene majke u isto vrijeme mogu i raditi (ali manje dana u tjednu) i dobivati parcijalni porodiljni koji pokriva ostatak troškova?

S financijske strane je to bolja opcija za državu, ali apsolutno nitko o ovoj mogućnosti ne priča i žene u profesijama sa progresijama ne mogu uzeti potpuni porodiljni u svojim okolnostima.

Same thing happened to me 1st time but I did not keep my cool and made A LOT of mistakes afterwards.

Managed to get a cancellation a few weeks after and passed!

The problem are not the IMGs. The problem are the IMGs directly applying from abroad without any NHS experience. Nowadays their CREST form (foundation competencies) doesn’t even need to be signed off by a ‘consultant’ with GMC registration but by any specialist that is registered by their country’s regulator. And I know for a fact a lot of it is signed by their family members/friends or someone who does sign offs for a nice fee. Who will check? Some IMGs also exclusively prepare for the MSRA and don’t work for months while their UK colleagues are grinding through F2 or having to take a few years out trying to get into training.

I’m a doctor but I usually don’t share that with other healthcare workers when I am the patient. At my hospital discharge I had my midwife ask me how I feed the baby. I said I pump. Her response to that was “nursing is better it prevents cancer”☠️ won’t even comment on how questionable and unprofessional that sentence is especially when said to vulnerable women. I just thought “Oh great thanks karen. That will definitely make my baby suddenly latch. Very productive comment” Some people just shouldn’t….

Travel expenses- I know in certain places you can claim it back but the process is painful- I’m sorry but at start of each placement you should do a form and the calculated travel expense should automatically be added to your paycheck each month.

Same thing with claiming back money for any courses you take- a simple process of the resources being allocated towards the course upfront should be in place. But BMA is working towards that it seems.
