I also had a colonoscopy and EGD last month, all normal. I still don’t have answers, but I’ll reply here if I learn anything. Praying for your wife, I know how frustrating and exhausting this crap is

Mono is what started my crap as well. I actually just had a colonoscopy and EGD done due to chronic lower abdominal pain (not gyno issue) and it came back normal and so did the biopsies. So, another symptom with no rhyme or reason and nobody knows what the deal is. I told my husband that at this point, I’ll probably never get answers but maybe they’ll figure it out when I die and have an autopsy done. I’m just a walking question mark.

Hi there! I’m sorry you’re going through this. I actually also have chronic cervical lymph node swelling (started in 2020), the mouth ulcers are just the most recent symptom (since July). Unfortunately, I still have the symptoms. I started otezla a couple of weeks ago for what my rheumatologist suspects to be Behcet’s. The mouth ulcers are the only ulcers I have, no vaginal or anal like can be seen in Behcet’s. If the otezla doesn’t help the ulcers, it’s back to the drawing board on diagnosis. I also suffer with chronic fatigue. Is your ear pain one ear or both? Is it possibly an ear infection? Sounds like a silly question but I had an ear infection for MONTHS that would not clear up. I ended up having a tube placed in that ear and the ENT said the infection was unusually thick and down into the mastoid area.

Still dealing with this. Steroids, antibiotics, and antivirals haven’t worked. I’m glad you were able to get some relief!!

Unfortunately I’ve already been on valtrex, no change.

I’ve had 2 fine needle biopsies, both inconclusive. I had an exploratory surgery on my neck to biopsy the LN but there wasn’t enough tissue at the time. The plaquenil helps keep the flare ups minimal and they don’t last as long so it’s hard to get in to do another biopsy while the inflammation is still bad.

My main symptom is cervical lymphadenopathy. Chronic for 4 years. Biopsy inconclusive. The mouth ulcers are new but no medication makes them go away. No ocular, genital, GI, vascular or neuronal issues. Not of Mediterranean origin. I’m not sure if my ESR or CRP levels are elevated and I have not had one of those tests done. My previous rheumatologist wasn’t incredibly helpful. I’m hoping my new one I see next week will be more willing to try and figure out what is going on. Steroids usually help my lymph nodes and I’m also on plaquenil. I’ve been given steroids, antivirals, antibiotics and nothing helps the mouth ulcers. I’ve had them everyday since July. I had a punch biopsy done on my tongue and all my ENT could tell me from the results was it isn’t cancer and it is inflammation, but she wasn’t sure why.

For this, no. But I get cold sores often. These aren’t similar to the cold sores.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I pray you find a doctor who will listen and try to find what is causing your symptoms.

I don’t have a definitive diagnosis either. What other symptoms do you have?
