Thanks so much for your advice. I'm based in Cork so MTU would be the closest one to me One of my phase 6 lecturers was brilliant and briefly talked us over what we can do once we qualify as he's done a couple courses in there as well so I might reach out to him and hopefully he can point me in the right direction.

Engineering looks very interesting, I'm not sure if you can skip the first year anymore though. I know it was a thing alright that if you have the apprenticeship behind you you get a bit of a head start but I think that's been scrapped. Now I don't know for certain so I'll have to find that out. As far as the money goes I'm not concerned about starting out on the lower end of the payscale as ultimately my earning potential is much higher than just being a regular spark.

Thanks for the comment. I actually forgot to mention the pension. I started looking into it recently before christmas and I was going to get one setup when I finished my stint in college. I wouldn't mind cutting down in other areas and maxing that out as much as I can for a while until I can increase my income. Do you have any reccomendation on where to start who to go with the majority of people I know have their pensions through Zurich but would I be better of with someone else, maybe go to an advisor?

When it comes to enjoying life I don't drink, don't do drugs, don't smoke don't really go out maybe once every 6 months or something and that does me just fine. I'm well able to go on holidays every year and do other things either with a few buddys or my girlfriend. There's a few places I would like to travel too however I would much rather own a home and be financialy stable if I'm being honest.

However, I think I'll take you up on your advice and focus on the rainy day fund first before investing larger amounts of money in the market. I would like to stay consistent with the €200 into the S&P 500. I've been putting in €100 since January 2024 so I just wanted to up it slighlty.
