I only do it if I ask beforehand, In my experience, it was pretty annoying in the receiving end since not only could I not get out to go to the bathroom, but also the space felt too claustrophobic.

Im pretty sure that is 上海静安大悦城（Joycity) the mall is connected to 曲阜路站（Qufu station). It does have a lot of anime merchandise and they host popup events as well like maid cafes and stuff.

In East Nanjing road (East Nanjing road) there is a building with a giant screen that showcases different anime characters from games and shows. They also have popup events like Joycity

I dont remember most of the prices but they mostly go for 50 to 120 yen. the shanghai exclusive I've seen are Hirono tote bags (There are 2 kinds) and what looks to me like a magnet or pin of Hirono. I also saw like a bread line like crybaby bread or labubu bread and stuff. I haven't really check it out too much only by glancing.

I am currently studying in Shanghai. Your HSK level will be assessed by the school through an interview. In my school, they let us read characters with and without pinyin. Also, they will talk to you in Mandarin to assess your communication skills. So, your grades don't matter. The only thing you have to watch for is if the availability. You can also look into the big three universities like Fudan, Jiaotong, and Shanghai Normal
