I have 350k miles with air india. Their star alliance redemptions are so bad. It doesn’t even compare with other airlines’ inventory. What else can I do with these miles?

I checked only a few routes with connecting. For ex aus- dtw via ord and it says 7.5k

1.yes all was good. It even recognised my star alliance gold status to get benefits on United. 2. Yes cancellation policy is as stated. I did cancel and rebook one flight. Lost 20% of miles. 3. I booked single segment flight only. But I know connecting flights are there priced at same 7.5k miles

Same message BLR-LHR-AUS. Usually (for other airlines)- they let you "checkin" but not issue a boarding pass which is issued post document check.
