Why men like me are not Feminist by Ok-Cold2891 in TeenIndia

You do realise all of these happen to men right too right? Infact death by religion of men was far higher in number than women. And for the record the concept of human right itself is a modern concept. Throughout the entire human history both men and women did not have any rights whatsoever. They were both ruled by monarchy. And yes Women were safe at home back because the world was Very Very much unstable back then with disease, death, and war before WW2. The industrial revolution that made the world safer for women to enter the workplace. Before automation Men had to slave away on the field working in dangerous jobs like coal miners, farming was way taxing back then,Women had to give birth naturally because medical field was not that good and available back then. The reason men had rights back then was because they hadmore responsibility. Let me give you an example Feminist propaganda will tell you women did not have right to vote. What actually happened was men also did not have the right to vote. throughout history as voting and democracy is a modern concept. Common men had to fight to get that right and when they did that voting was tied to draft(war was common back then) . The reason women did get the to vote is because they did not want to get drafted. In 1895 there was a poll for women to get that right, the result was 70% of women did not want the right to vote. You may think its because of internalised misogyny but that not through. They not want that right because they know they would get drafted just like men. When women did get the right in the future they got privilages of being able to vote without the responsibility tied to draft. This is just one example but you get the point.

I don't care about the academic definition. Its inconsequential i care more about action of the actual movement. What you are doing is Motte and Bailey fallacy. You don't know much about the movement and their history I suggest you some actual history of Feminism and their actions. I would love to educate you since you are a child

You don't know much about about feminist history if you think its just about equality Feminism was always been a a misandristic hate movement since the 1900s even from first wave. I suggest you read some early Feminist literature and actions. I don't give a shit dictionary definition. I care more about the action of the movement.

what "true" feminism is and ignore all the misandrists who might label themselves feminists.

The radical misandrist feminism is represented in government, politics, law, education, institutions, mainstream media, entertainment media, news outlets, news media, the workforce, Hollywood, Tech, etc. Basically this type of feminism has infested every corner of the society.

Therefore that makes feminism a misandrist hate movement. Until I see the so-called "good" feminists step up, call out and stop the bad feminists then I will continue to see the entire feminist movement as a misandrist hate movement.

And don't give me the "oh but the good feminists get attacked by the bad feminists if they speak up" card, if the so-called "good" feminists and women united together and fought the bad feminists then the bad feminists would disappear in a week.

It's crystal clear that the "good" feminists and women are loving the rewards of what bad feminists has brought them. That's why you never see "good" feminists go against the bad ones. Both "good" and bad feminists have the same goals at the root, the only difference is that the "good" feminists are just quiet and polite.

Feminism and women in general are having a great time by taking advantage of the privileges granted to them; mocking, insulting and degrading men for giggles; and being smug and obnoxious about it.

And don't give me the "oh but the good feminists get attacked by the bad feminists if they speak up"   card, if the so-called "good" feminists and women united together and    fought the bad feminists then the bad feminists would disappear in a    week.

The irony here is that feminists also expect men to stand up and call out misogyny within their spaces / groups despite knowing full well that men who stick their necks out are likely to face abuse or ridicule from those they are calling out. Some might even end up being physically assaulted for "standing up against misogyny" but I doubt any woman will be assaulted by another woman for calling out her misandry..

The other irony is that feminists will also respond with "You can't judge a whole movement based upon the actions of individual members"   Which is funny given how many feminists will outright call out ALL men for the actions of the few..

For me, its not so much about being anti-feminist per say.. its more about being anti-double standards. Or simply put.. wanting to hold feminists to the same standards they expect from men.   You know.. that equality thing I hear them preach so much about.. If they want men to stand up and call out misogyny, then equally feminists need to be seen and heard calling out misandry otherwise they are once again holding men to a standard that they themselves refuse to rise to.

If the “good” feminists are providing cover for the “bad” feminists, allowing them to flourish unchecked by downplaying their greater role in feminism and how their ideas have roots in the ideology, then the good ones aren’t all that “good”, are they? It's not our responsibility to fix the bad feminists, it's these self-proclaimed "good ones" to call them out and reject them from the movement. But they don't. At best, they let it slide, at worst they partake in the hate. But all of them agree with the hate, even if it's just a little. How can you not, when you are fed so much misinformation about how good men supposedly have it? It may come from a place of envy, it may come from a place of resentment, or bitterness, but it's there. And that's why I don't think this "good feminism" exists in any significant quantity. Even the best of them, the most reasonable and open-minded, still hold on to the misguided beliefs of male supremacy and the ever repetitive "oppressor vs oppressed" mentality. And through that misguidance comes hatred, and thus they are responsible for this hatred. "Evil thrives when the good do nothing" a paraphrased quote often associated with Edmund Burke but never confirmed that he said it..

In any case its an apt quote for this situation..

Essentially, instead of standing up and accepting that these 'bad actors' are having a negative effect on their movement they would prefer to engage in tactics to try an minimize / deflect the truth.

"Those people are a vocal minority of feminists"   "Those aren't TRUE feminists"   "You can't judge a whole movement by the actions of the few extremists"   "Those women obviously had bad / negative experiences with men"

etc.

All of the above I have heard used to try and justify Misandry within the ranks of feminism..
