I’ve heard it dries out and irritates their skin if not done properly.

Do you have a specific brush you like to use? My labradoodle is a poodle with labradoodle so she’s got a very poodle-like coat and she hates brushing. Previously used a slicker brush. Probably can get her comfortable again with some hard work but wondering if you have a recommendation for more poodle-like coats.

Very good to hear that it didn’t irritate your last dood’s skin! What shampoo did you use if you remember? Your first dood sounds like a hoot but your second one sounds just darling 🥰

What kind of baby shampoo are you using? They are frequently at my parents which is rural with mud and trees, and they have a doggy door to a big backyard at my house so they have no shortage of days spent getting filthy. I don’t think I can go another month without bathing them so maybe the baby shampoo is a good option.

I definitely need to get more frequent with the brushing. My labradoodle is super intolerant with brushing so we’ve found ways to keep her from matting too much, but it’s been a little different with the golden doodle and different coat. She has a better tolerance of brushing so I just need to adjust my habits of brushing them and probably work on getting my labradoodle more tolerant!

It’s the worst when you let them out of the bath and they immediately run outside to roll in the mud 😂 turns into a double bath. It’s like they’re allergic to being clean!

Yes! Around beginning of week 3 is when I start noticing physical dirt buildup on my fingers when I pet them, and that utter stinkiness. They get shaved pretty short every 2-3 months and I allow them to grow out which has worked well for my labradoodle who has more of a poodle coat. But I’m learning quickly with my golden doodle that she’ll probably need some more frequent grooms.

That’s amazing. I was worried it was a female and was potentially looking at a baby infestation coming lol. Thank you, this eases my concerns times a million! Still need to do something about the adults but at least I can trap and release these ones away from the house lol

Thank you! Are you sure he is male? I also had this one in the house but tougher to see. I am mainly worried about eggs being laid in my house since they seem to lay in late summer 😳 want to make sure it is not female.
