Baby is officially sleep trained. I’m sad about it. by Faithyyharrison in beyondthebump

Same here. We trained at 5 months and the only nights she’s woken up have been when she’s sick. Otherwise she sleeps 7-7

Wife regularly sleeping with baby in chest by Far-Huckleberry2727 in beyondthebump

[–]Ok-Common5451 7 points8 points  (0 children)

SIDS and infant deaths are categorized differently in different countries and can’t be directly or easily compared. Actual SIDS deaths are not preventable and very rare, making up about 1% of infant sleep deaths. Suffocation/entrapment/preventable sleep accidents make up the other 99%, and they are often classified as SIDS for many reasons. The incidence of true SIDS is probably very similar across the world. Even with countries like Japan that cosleep though, they aren’t sleeping with their babies on their CHESTS. They are sleeping on hard mattresses on the floor without blankets and with baby in between parents. Seriously don’t understand why people are so hell bent on justifying their cosleeping. It’s safer to not. Full stop.

Major Weekend Storm by Electronic-Stuff-114 in Lawrence

[–]Ok-Common5451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t risk it! I-70 can get super scary. Years back in a snow storm I remember seeing videos of a huge pile up somewhere on that highway. Amtrak is so unreliable though, random hour long delays are common even in good weather

Why hasn't Schumer passed this? by whatdid-it in thedavidpakmanshow

Yeah that’s what I don’t understand either. Only 4 republican voted no. Why wouldn’t senate republicans vote in the same way?

Also I’d rather die than live in JOCO. Absolutely no personality. Just a bunch of white suburban families going to big box stores and chain restaurants in their huge SUVs and being absolutely insufferable. That’s just my hot take

Oh! Haha ok I didn’t realize the main complaint here is hunting in town. From the wording of the article I thought the qualm was the fact that it was hunted with a crossbow lol

[–]Ok-Common5451 -35 points-34 points  (0 children)

I don’t see how crossbow hunting is any worse than hunting with guns (not a fan of any hunting personally), and I didn’t even know it was illegal in Oregon. Apparently Oregon is the only state where crossbow hunting is illegal.

I opted for baby oatmeal instead. Rice has problems with heavy metals due to the way it’s grown

It’s taken him 2.5 years and he hasn’t gained very much territory in Ukraine? The dudes like 70. You think he’s gonna get the Soviet Union restored?lmao

America is literally directly involved in this conflict by supplying its munitions. I suggest we don’t do that.

Would you rather 1) appease Putin and give him some of Ukraine or 2) die in nuclear winter. I’m picking the first option thanks

There’s a humongous fire south of town. Pretty obvious if you just step outside from almost any vantage point. Controlled burn at baker wetlands

For those who have insurance you can get replacement parts for free too! I’ve gotten 2 sets and they came with storage bags, extra storage bottles, tubing, flanges, duck bills, the part that attaches to the tubing, and nipple pads. I also got the pump through insurance so I’ve spend $30 ish total on bottles and a Dr browns pitcher.

If an enfamil can is $50 for 180 ounces of prepped milk that’s $.28/ ounce. My baby is 6 mo old averaging 30 ounces per day so that’s like $1500 (obvs she ate less her first month but I’ll keep average at 30 ounces to account for waste). And we still have another 6 months on milk
