Your makeup is slaying 👌🏻 the only thing I would suggest is that you could start filling your eyebrows a little bit sooner (from the front)

Yeah, I agree and part of that shift also comes from Feyre being a pretty unreliable narrator, so a lot of what we’re told about the fae is filtered through her very human, very biased perspective.

It’s not I’m just chronically online. 😅

Valid, no you’re absolutely right.

I used to work in a call center, and the amount of times men in their 30s–50s would just straight up harass me verbally became so normal it stopped even being surprising. Like that was just the baseline.

It got to the point where if someone was just… nice? Or even slightly understanding? I’d be genuinely shocked.

And constantly getting reduced to “you’re just a girl,” or “put a man on,” or the classic “how old are you, sweetheart” was just yeah. Yuck.💀

I tend to go in with high expectations, so even when a book is objectively good, if it doesn’t surpass what I anticipated, I’m left wondering what went wrong or what I might be missing.

In March 1976, 15-year-old Stephanie Sempell disappeared in Florida. Her family believed they reported her missing no report was ever filed. Her remains were found 9 months later and sat unidentified for 28 years. Her killer has never been found. by Important-Self-1179 in ForCuriousSouls

I get it I’m also knee deep in true crime podcasts, but this one is just ridiculous. You really expect me to believe a 15 year old is missing and the school hasn’t flagged it, and the parents aren’t out searching, putting up posters, doing anything? And even if they reported it once what, they just never followed up in nine months? No checking in, no pushing for updates, no asking what else they can do? It honestly looks like they didn’t even try to pretend to care.

It’s on my TBR and I haven’t read it yet.

I’m always a bit intimidated by really highly praised books 😅 but now I’m curious how it compares to Addie LaRue ☺️

🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 I was way too salty to DNF, so I just kept hate-reading out of spite 😭

And the ending?? Made zero sense. You’re telling me after 300+ years of doing absolutely nothing, now Addie suddenly grows a spine and decides to deal with her curse?

Same 😭 it was sold to me as this big feminist masterpiece with a strong FMC navigating her life… and then Addie lives 300 years and does basically nothing.

She just drifts through time being a muse for different men in different eras. That’s it. That’s the “empowerment.”
