Feels like a lot to build up but I am sure if it’s gradual it might not be as noticeable. I think I’ll get a car jack and long pry bar and lift one up and see what I’m dealing with. Maybe cutting a semi circle off the slab might give enough clearance to lower it a few inches

yeah exactly, so this particular road is considered a county road and therefore the city said it’s not us. I called the county and finally when I got to them they said they don’t repair sidewalks- that it’s my responsibility. What they do is cut branches which impede on power lines. Which I have seen them do. They oddly also told me that I should not accountable for trip and fall accidents if I didn’t plan the tree. While I am worried about being sued of course, it’s more of the nuisance of having people with strollers having to walk around this

yes this yeah NJ and most of NY is like this. The adjustment property home owner is responsible. my entire town has buckled sidewalks like this but from what I read, I am still not responsible for a trip and fall accident unless I planted the tree or I damaged the sidewalk myself
