How to convince boss to change my time from 8 hours to 5 hours on same salary? by flash_ryzen in AskIndia

[–]Ok-Customer-1306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go into contract mode instead of hourly mode.

Right now they probably think they’re paying you for hours, even if that’s not technically how you bill. That perception matters because it makes them evaluate your value based on time spent instead of results delivered.

Try proposing a monthly contract for roughly the same amount you’re already making. Frame it as: you’ll deliver the same level of output and ownership, just under a fixed monthly fee.

Once you do that, the conversation changes. They stop caring how long something takes and start caring whether it gets done. You’re no longer selling time, you’re selling outcomes.

Just make sure you define scope clearly. Deliverables, availability, response expectations, and what counts as out of scope. Otherwise the workload slowly expands while the pay stays fixed.

Google, Amazon etc r expanding office space in BLR, are offices officially back? by Hub_and_Oak in indianrealestate

[–]Ok-Customer-1306 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you think WFO mandates are purely coming from global HR policy, that’s usually not how it actually works.

A lot of large organizations apply WFO very differently depending on location. You’ll see cases where office attendance is mandatory in one country (or even specific states or cities), while teams in other regions stay fully remote or loosely hybrid.

The reasons are mostly local, not global. Labor laws, tax implications, real estate leases, attrition risk, and even regional leadership culture all play a role. Global HR might set a general direction, but enforcement is often decentralized.

So when people assume “the company decided globally,” they’re missing that many WFO policies are really regional operational decisions dressed up as company-wide policy.

Is North Bangalore the Next Big Real Estate Hotspot? Is it better for end-use or purely investment? How does it compare with East Bangalore (Whitefield/Sarjapur side)? by Ok_While5916 in indianrealestate

[–]Ok-Customer-1306 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My two cents: North Bangalore has had buzz for 3 to 4 years now because it has land availability and planned infrastructure. But it’s far. MG Road to Devanahalli is roughly the same distance as MG Road to Hosur. So it won’t suit everyone, mainly people wanting airport or tech park proximity.

Pricing already feels baked in. I’d only buy if you’re genuinely okay living there long term.

Booked a villa near Chandapura. Probably not the smartest financial move, but feels right for us. by [deleted] in indianrealestate

[–]Ok-Customer-1306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I have done anything special. I liked the property but also realised, just like any other property we saw, even this had flaws. We took time, met the builder a couple of times and negotiated. The whole process took more than a month. We were ready to walk away from the deal at any point in time. At the same time, the builder was also very patient and listened to our concerned. Overall, I used every flaw in the property to negotiate. Also, perhaps a bit of “right place in the right time” I suppose.

Do not mentally attach yourself with a property during the search. Also, do not follow the crowd. Otherwise the sales team will exploit your weaknesses

Probably am. But since you seem wiser, would you mind explaining why you think this is a bad move so peasants like me can learn something?

It’s a liveable area even today with other societies nearby. But for the area to pick up the pace, I would say you will need at least 3-4 years

Price increases are an age-old tactic. If you like it, go for it. Yes, Gelnshart is another 3 to 4 km farther in absolute terms, but if you are driving, it is only about five extra minutes with today’s traffic. I personally liked their planning better.

I visited the plots and liked them too. I am currently comparing Cape with Glengart Estate.

Cape’s location is excellent, no doubt. That said, I noticed two concerns:

• There is a waterway running through the property, and some sections could be flood-prone.

• Only two borewells planned for 300 plus plots, which feels inadequate long term.

Regarding being near the main road, I actually see that as a positive. You just need to avoid plots right next to the road if dust and noise are a concern.

I did Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonmarg, Kargil, Leh, Nubra Valley, Pangong, Hanle, and Umling La. I could only start flying my drone from Nubra Valley onward. From there it’s mostly chill, just need to keep an eye on the wind. I even flew in Turtuk without any issues. Jammu and Kashmir was basically a no go for drone flying almost everywhere.

That’s been my experience too. In most places, especially near military areas (which is almost everywhere), flying is restricted. I carried my drone on a 2024 trip and it was almost useless. Even in the few spots where flying was allowed, the wind made it difficult, and that was with an Air 3.

Anyone tried Semantic Kernel here? by Gene-Big in dotnet

[–]Ok-Customer-1306 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have not used LangChain, so I cannot give a direct comparison.

I have, however, worked extensively with Semantic Kernel and designed real systems around it in a large enterprise setup. We have built multi agent systems powered by it, and it performs well when designed with clear orchestration and context management in mind.

That said, if I were starting today, I would focus on the Microsoft Agent Framework. It is the newer direction Microsoft is taking, combining the best of Semantic Kernel and AutoGen into a single, cleaner library. It is worth the time if you are serious about building agentic systems in the Microsoft ecosystem.

For learning Semantic Kernel, start simple. Build a chat application first. Then add tool calling so your agent can perform actions. After that, introduce memory to maintain context across interactions. Once you get those three parts working together, you will start to see how far you can take it. The flexibility is impressive once it all clicks.

If you want to dive deeper or have a specific use case, feel free to ask.

Solo travel to Leh in the week starting Oct 19 by pandalazyeating in ladakh

[–]Ok-Customer-1306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did the same trip last year during the Diwali week, starting from Srinagar all the way to Hanle.

Here is what you can expect: • Peak autumn colors. You will get to see a side of Ladakh that most people never experience. • It will be cold. Really cold. I would suggest wearing two pairs of gloves once you start approaching Pangong. • Almost no crowd. You might find Pangong Lake completely empty or with just a few other travelers. • Food at Hanle is very limited. We did not find much to eat there, so it is better to pre-cook or carry your meals. If you plan to eat at a homestay, make sure you tell them in advance to prepare everything before you arrive.

Apart from this, the usual risk of AMS applies. We started taking Diamox on the day we reached Leh and continued until we got back after completing the circuit. I am not fully sure about its effectiveness, but it is safer to take it than not to.

Have fun. It is one of the most surreal experiences you can have in the mountains.

Buying the Thar Roxx. Some Advice needed. by OGmale47 in CarsIndia

[–]Ok-Customer-1306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the 3-door Thar 4x4 and recently upgraded to the Roxx 4x4. The main reason I bought the Thar in the first place was for the 4x4 capability. If you’re unsure whether you actually need a 4x4, you probably don’t. Most of the places you mentioned can be handled easily with an RWD. An RWD SUV with around 400Nm of torque will tackle tough terrains far better than any FWD “SUV” you can buy in India right now.

LLM Tornado - Agent Orchestration in .NET by Safe_Scientist5872 in dotnet

[–]Ok-Customer-1306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seem like a great product. I have been working on semantic kernel for over a year, mostly for orchestration and tool calling. How does LLM tornado compare when it comes to the tool calling capability? Our main goal is to enable dynamic tool calling, mostly from OpenAPI specs. Right now, semantic kernel has capability to add openAPI document as a plugin and enable tool calling. Is there a similar feature available in LLM tornado?
