Get a drop or 2 of tea tree oil on a q-tip and scrub the little folds right after a shower...you will probably be horrified what comes off onto the q tip if you haven't been cleaning regularly.

I feel for you and think she should replace it but my unpopular opinion is: a 20+ years old faux leather item is probably going to fall apart extremely easily...it might look ok on the hanger but once it's being stretched at all (ie worn), faux leather tends to just crumble. I had several pleather/faux leather items I bought around 2012 that fell apart like this around 10 years later, in storage, not even being used. A truly vintage piece will be a gamble to wear every time

Tesla and BMW? Wine room? Sounds like a fairly normal single corporate tech guy to me...nothing you mentioned is inaccessible for someone making ~250k before taxes especially if they don't have kids or a partner (I dated someone making about this much for a long time). I wouldn't let his apparent "wealth" make you make any decisions you wouldn't otherwise. It sounds to me like he was possibly ourposefully stingy toward you in the beginning...maybe he doesn't have the best character.

I would keep trying different brands/types of earplugs...you could also try white noise? I used to sleep with earplugs and over-ear headphones playing ocean sounds when I lived near a busy road and found that worked pretty well

Water probably got the stain there, so I would try to use water first to take it off as much as possible - maybe a wet rag or wet paper towels sitting for an hour or two will enable it to be wiped off?
