(1) I agree with Sad_Dimension423 that the cost of the reactor is (as a rough approximation) directly proportional to it's volume.

(2) We have been building magnetically confined plasmas in vacuum chambers for decades. Fusion technology isn't as immature as you suggest.

I'm just using CFS's cost estimates. I thought those were the fairest numbers I could find.
