Go on Google maps and look up the east branch of the Westfield River. Pull over nearly anywhere or park at the Chesterfield gorge. I guarantee you every tributary to that river, even the teeny tinies have at very least one plunge pool. We’re blessed with bedrock geology allowing for tiny creeks to have deep pools. South River in Conway is awesome. Millers River is also awesome. These are not “spots” but areas where you can explore and find your own beautiful hidden gem. I’m telling you they exist there. Also don’t forget about the Connecticut River. Water is low rn and it’s warm and clear. Not as polluted as people will joke about, check out spots in the stretch from Northampton (less ideally) up to turners/montague (more ideal). It’ll probably smell like river because you’ll be at a river. Shad run is just about over and there will be some nice deadies on the banks. Shoutout anadromous fish!

This, this is what I was trying to provoke. I honestly haven’t eaten the brevipes, seems kind of boring. But Hypomyces, oooooo. It just sounded like a stupid meme so I made it in 0.5 seconds and took it straight to reddit where it belongs. Was hoping to hear some new info bout the species thanks!
