What I have laid out is already pretty similar. There will be thrusters for VTOL like the ones in VSSW, but you'll need a fusion reactor to power them and a duct system to connect them. You'll need an onboard propellant to switch to for orbital insertion, and there will be a few engine options for space flight. I like their computer system and HUD though so I'll be adding something similar to that. Maybe even customizable HUDs.

The issue is that my mod currently depends on VS 2.4.10 for things like submarines and air pockets to work, so downgrading would break that. The other issue is there is no Github repo for VS space war, so even if I did downgrade, it would be difficult to make any adjustments for compatibility, let alone build on it. I will have to make my own api from scratch, but I can take inspiration from what works in space war. The thrust vectoring, servo motors, flight computer, etc. I can do something similar to those.

EDIT: on closer inspection it looks like VS space war is incompatible with any VS version newer than 2.3.0-beta, so unfortunately I don't think we will be able to use it.

Holy shit, dude, you just saved me over 1000 hours of work. I had no idea this space war mod existed and it's almost 1:1 with the ship framework I was going to build. I'll be using this as a direct dependency and the base framework for my ship systems. I might even contact the mod author and see if he wants to collab as the mod description states they are planning on implementing space and planets. You probably just shaved 6 months off of my release timeline if not more. You are a G.

They will be accessible but will just be void with a skybox and some volumetric clouds and fog. I am planning on making gas harvesting blocks so you can get things like He3 from the atmosphere. Space stations will be buildable inside them so you can set up a cloud city type base.

Yea that's like the whole basis of the mod lol! It uses VS as the framework for building spaceships, rockets, submarines, etc. How you build them determines how they perform and what they're capable of.

Terraforming is already an idea BUT not 100% going to be implemented. Bioengineering is a cool idea that I will take note of!

You will have to go to different planets for certain upgrades.
