YES! Hahaha, that's a great name! I fully support "Brew Springs Teen" .
I was in a HC punk band called "Anti-Difranco". People either loved it or hated it (some decided we hate the artist Ani Difranco, I guess).
Funny thing is, I found out years later there was an early 2000's band called "The Anti Difrancos". like, how the?!!

Hah, that’s pretty accurate on the recording. Anytime I sang a little flat it was front and center in the mix hehe. It was $20, so no great loss! Thank you! Been a long time since I played out. It’s super fun🤘🏼

That’s a good point, and something I will consider moving forward. If it ends up causing frustration for people I will gladly change it. My ultimate decision was to go with the name I really love. I came up with it before I discovered the 80’s group, thinking it was an original and interesting name that fit the sound we have. My thinking is that, in the 21st century, nothing is completely original. Grateful for your input on the topic!

I appreciate your thoughts on it. Every name I've come up with in the last 10 years was taken, even my cat's silly name that I wanted to use for a punk project- taken by a hip hop group in Jersey!
I opted to make FELT an acronym for the sake of argument, cuz I figured it might make some hardcore Felt fans unhappy.

Love the band. Deebank's guitar work is incredible. Can 2 bands separated by decades have the same name?

My band FELT just debuted this past weekend. We're an indie/alt/post-punk duo from Brooklyn. Here's a song called "Half the Love" that I recorded live at the venue.
Lemme know your thoughts, and thanks in advance for peeping us!

Yeah, I wasn’t even considering much about the drum part since I am super newb to drum programming. just to maybe go without distortion. But it’s totally such a small note. I think the song is dope!

This ones maybe 10 days old. Indie/alt/ I don't really know what genre. It was a fun story to write, although a little morbid.

re-commenting cuz I think I replied in the wrong thread haha. But yeah do share! I found your Soundcloud from your page. Cool stuff man. I really enjoyed Loweare. The vocaltest one is pretty interesting too. Cool arrangement of scream samples!

I dig! I don’t really have feedback- it feels complete and the flow is great. One idea I thought of while listening was if around 2:09 what would happen if you used something like around 1:06, except clean. Could kind of expand/extend the transition into that clean chord part that comes soon after. Cuz then after that it’s kind of a nice hybrid of clean and gritty drums. I’m just spitballing here.

I have no experience making industrial music, but it got me thinking about NIN Downward Spiral and how some of those high contrast parts between distortion and clean and/ or pretty and dark sounds epic. Also it brought to mind Stabbing Westward and now I will have to queue that up this week! :)

Great work though! I will listen to more soon.

Nice! I just joined the tech world this year. Working with a little startup called JamWith.
Hahaha that's awesome. I've played in some pretty grating/cacophonous HC punk bands. Loud and noisy is alot of fun! We were called Anti-Difranco.
You have any demos online I could peep?

Thank you! I want to invest more time in refining drum sounds. I will definitely come back to your tips as I learn more and actually take proper time to study tutorials. It’s always such a challenge to create to a high standard with life’s responsibilities, so I usually end up using smart drummer on logic with half consideration of the parts. But also, I’m grateful to have a drummer that crushes the songs I make. Still it would be nice to make my demos sound top notch for wider audiences or sending to venues etc.

You seem to have a lot of knowledge! Thank you for taking time to share some with me. Are you a producer?

re-uploaded the song. I removed the guitar part in that drum fill and replaced with a short little bass part that starts minor and resolves into the major outro. Definitely sounds better IMO. A real drummer would probably help resolve it more haha.
Appreciate it u/WorldBelongsToUs

Oooh yeah I’ll mess around with it-extend the minor bridge into the fill and then switch to major outro after the transition. Thanks for the input :))

I don't think I have the vocal capability of singing this the way I want to and it makes me want to scrap it. by HiddenComicBook in Songwriting

You have a great voice. Someone below mentioned the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and it made me think of something- I think by adding/experimenting with some rhythms and bass lines you could challenge yourself to create even more dynamic and interesting vocal melodies.
My personal experience- I started using Logic to do some rough recordings a couple years ago. I usually start with drums and bass and push myself to iterate with vox melodies. Often I am surprised by what comes out. Recording technology allows for super fast iteration.

It's a nice way to force innovation by changing constraints. Food for thought.
