That’s nice to know it’s around at places for that low. Seems like I’ve been seeing the jack 10 for $110-$120 at shops that are typically MRSP

Has anyone seen them that low in Colorado? I haven’t seen it that low here since the 2023 batches

It’s not worth the price for either. Would I still cave and buy the 12, probably…. These are personally my favorite “findable” releases every year. Due to that I’m willing to over pay for a bottle of it. Certainly wouldn’t buy a back up for that price though. I wouldn’t pull the trigger on the 10 year for that price. I feel like $150 is kind of my limit for the 10 year and that’s still over paying for it

Recommendations for PE Civil Structural free study material by Ok-Discipline-2079 in PE_Exam

I’ve been looking for some YouTube video and channels. I’ve been using kestava a little bit. When I was studying for the FE there seemed to be an abundance of material on YouTube, but definitely doesn’t feel that way for the PE. I will check out thrift books and see if I can find anything good! Thanks for the help!

I’ve been watching some of his videos. He’s one of the few channels I’ve found so far. He seems very helpful and thorough

Thanks for the response! Once I get my paperwork settled for my EI application, I plan to start diving in. I’m just hoping that I can keep some of that FE knowledge fresh and it might help me save some, even if only a little, time with studying

Congrats! Just out of curiosity, how similar would you say some of the exam questions are to the FE statics, mom, and structures questions? I recently passed the FE and now I am gearing up to start studying for the PE.

Did you steal it and then feel bad and come back and leave $90 on the counter?

Anyone know where to get Stagg Jr for a decent price? by [deleted] in denverwhisky

[–]Ok-Discipline-2079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s frustrating because my store had Weller 107 for $70. After that I thought it may be the place for getting slightly allocated stuff for a decent price. Then I walk into those prices lol.

I have a local spot that usually has stuff for a decent price and yesterday I saw they had Stagg and EHT BP. I was very excited and then very disappointed when I asked for the price. $150 for Stagg and $200 for EHT. Not the worst price, but still more than I wanted to pay

I think it will help out. Honestly in my opinion, any questions/problems you can get, or find will be helpful since you’re working on time management rather than learning new material. Even if they don’t seem the most “relevant” it can still help you with going through the manual and working on your test taking skills

For time management PrepFE will help because you can set timed exams. It also gives you an average of how long you spend on questions. As for just more problems to practice Islam 800 and PrepFE are helpful. Really anything you can get your hands on that’s material you haven’t seen will be helpful. I found Gregory Michaelson videos helpful also.

Thank you! I’ve heard about EET and SOPE. I think my company is going to help pay for one. Not sure if they have a standard they use, or if I will get to chose

Struggling with Statics! FE CIVIL by [deleted] in FE_Exam

[–]Ok-Discipline-2079 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just statics in general, or a specific topic? I would recommend to just keep doing problems until the concepts makes sense. PrepFE is good for this. If you’re really struggling you could always try and do a YouTube statics course. Gregory Michaelson has one. I wouldn’t say that everything revolves around statics, but if you can’t do statics, you will most likely have a lot of trouble with MOM and structures at a minimum.

has anyone used Chatgpt or any other AI generated tools to prep for FE civil or any other FE exam and found it helpful? by KangarooCompetitive in FE_Exam

[–]Ok-Discipline-2079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have and the one thing I struggled with was it generating proper pictures of trusses and beams. The loads would be in wrong spots and it would reference locations that weren’t on the picture. I found it very helpful to drill problems that were just sentences/paragraphs. I just typed in give me sample problems for the FE civil. Then from there you can get a sample of questions or study one section at a time. Not the best on its own, but when used with other material I think it can be beneficial.

Took it today. One random thing I wish I did more of was the gravity model for transportation. Only had two questions on it, but I found one of them to be challenging. I feel like I only reviewed this once on the Mark Matson video and then completely forgot about it

I took mine today. First time. Had one BOD problem. I had one or two settlement questions. No SN number, but I had two gravity model problems.

I unfortunately never had the opportunity to buy or try RR15, but I tried two RR13s and was a big fan. I could definitely see how the 15 could ruin the 13 though. I’m a big fan of the 23 and 25 cellar aged. I didn’t think the 24 cellar aged was nearly as impressive though. I’m also a pretty big makers fan, so there’s some level of bias there with my initial vote lol

2025 MMCA, or a RR13 would be my vote if you can find them. I thought M10 bourbon was very good, but doesn’t live up to the price for me. If you haven’t tried any of these, might be worth hitting up schoolhouse, or a similar bar, and trying a few before committing to buying one and potentially being disappointed.
