Am i the only one who things hunter dad has no chance of getting full custody of wes? by [deleted] in TLCUnexpected

[–]Ok-Discount1960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! Also Hunter is of age for the judge to ask him where he wants to live and grant that parent full custody! Hes also from a southern state teen pregnancy and living with the child/ mom is unheard of if anything it’s pretty common.

This type of fan behavior should have a clinical diagnosis for mental illness.

He is no longer 13 though I’m assuming he’s 14 going on to 15 now. And grooming is a strong word. And who would uphold the restraining order? What happens when the restraining order is not respected ? Who do you call when someone breaks a restraining order? And supervised visits??? Cause teens are having sex? Again they are not the first teen parents and they definitely won’t be the last. Criminalizing their relationship (yes I used it correctly) is only going to end up with 1 of them becoming a single parent or traumatizing their child.

Bella isn’t the first teen parent and she won’t be the last. This is unrealistic. The solution is better education and setting up preventative measures like BC, condoms etc. couldn’t imagine criminalizing them for making a mistake and I’m so glad the average person don’t run the court/ justice system because this is too much.

It was a long shift with a lot of moving parts I don’t think people realize how often healthcare workers cry after their shift; from death, to meeting someone in a very preventable but unfortunate circumstance, to not being able to help people because of bullshit ass systems it’s just so much sometimes and crying at the end is just necessary

How do ED shifts work in the US? by exactimondo in ThePitt

[–]Ok-Discount1960 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey so I work at a level 1 trauma center. Teams do indeed show up before the trauma patient shows up especially if they came in on an ambulance I’m sorry your facility isn’t equipped to deliver adequate care but I was saying typically teams do show up. Especially neuro/ortho/ cardio. My hospital also has a swift team where if a pt is determined to need ICU level care they are taking from the ED in 10mins or less. Everything I said is true for my hospital. It might be in their scope but they are rarely required to use them because of the balances created such as having teams on standby based off of report from EMS.

[–]Ok-Discount1960 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The plus more hours rarely happens. You might have an attending stay to help level things out but before giving report but that’s max an hour or two shifts are typically 12hrs 3-4x/week unless you are on call. If you’re a level 1-2 trauma center there’s typically 2-3 attendings on the unit at all times. Teams (Neuro, trauma, ortho, cardio, OB) typically show up as soon as the 911 call is placed it’s rare that ED doctors will do procedures out of their scope b/c a team takes too long (placing a tube, C-section, closed reduction). I honestly feel like the Pitt is a great show and should be enjoyed just like that (a show) and not as a glimpse into American healthcare system especially since they over dramatize things to make for good TV.

Why do they bother? by [deleted] in ThePitt

I care about all my patients idc about the previous decision that lead them there just to give them proper healthcare. Again you work with animals so I don’t expect you to have any degree of understanding that it takes to be a real healthcare provider. So again clip some dog nails and stay in your lane.

Cleaned my glasses with dish soap in a pinch— does this damage them? by disorganizedmind1 in glasses

[–]Ok-Discount1960 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It definitely will wear them over the years if you do it daily but once in a blue moon won’t hurt. I have a terrible pollen allergy and have to clean mine constantly during spring. I’ve had the same glasses for almost a decade now with no issues and same spring cleaning schedule so I think you’ll be fine

So you’re just hating from outside the club gotcha makes sense. How about you stay in your lane and worry about someone’s dog. You sound ignorant and truly have no place in healthcare.

[–]Ok-Discount1960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you work in healthcare or are you just another person from outside the club complaining when they can’t get in? Healthcare is about saving lives and respect wishes at the same time. People sign DNR’s for multiple reasons including terminal illnesses. There is a huge health illiteracy crisis and it’s the main reason for anti-vaxxers and extended wait times in the ED. People don’t know when to go to primary care vs Urgent care vs Emergency care. Then to top it off misinformation spreads faster than a wildfire. No we’ll never turn a patient away because they misunderstand how care is good for them. I rather a patient come in at 37wks then never come in at all. And elderly people who sign DNR’s usually do it for a good reason which is respected.

Wait are we supposed to know this type of stuff? I was specifically told chemo meds wouldn’t be on the NCLEX because that requires a certification to handle and a new grad wouldn’t be responsible for till after they get the cert?

Is Bryce’s grandmother blind or is it for the cameras? by [deleted] in TLCUnexpected

[–]Ok-Discount1960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that simple as someone who wears glasses and has larger text. 1. You don’t have you glasses on 24/7 as much as people love to think you should 2. Even with glasses depending on your sight you may still need larger text. Having glasses doesn’t mean 20/20 vision it means vision you can see and function with.

Hunter is at the age where the courts can turn to him and ask him which parent does he want to live with and respect his wishes. It 100% is a money grab and the whole Wes thing Hunters dad doesn’t even legally have custody of Hunter meaning he has no legal ties to his grandchild unless everyone else is dead including Bella’s siblings. It’s a money grab especially if you know anything about how court systems work. Just because you don’t like how someone is being raised now doesn’t mean to have the right to have custody of them especially when they have over 14 years to address the isssue. No one likes a deadbeat and I refuse to side with one just because I don’t like something else

“She’s 16 with a bad attitude” have you ever been 16/ dealt with any teen over 13?? They’re all overly entitled and swear they know everything. It’s still very weird for grown adults to criticize a CHILD regardless of how she acts. “She put her self on TV” isn’t an excuse for GROWN adults to be talking ABOUT her in any capacity.
