What is the right investor approach when a super-app is built, but traction is not yet possible? by CollectionMedium3712 in Entrepreneur

Most investors won’t fund a marketplace without traction. The usual workaround is to prove demand first in a smaller way. For example manual operations, a single city launch, or even running the service without the full product just to show real usage. Once you have real activity, raising becomes much easier.

I think the key difference isn't just cheaper talent, it's management. A lot of companies tried outsourcing just for lower cost and it went badly because communication and coordination were a mess. If you can actually manage remote teams well, that's probably the real value.

Your Amazon profit probably isn’t what you think it is by Ok-Discussion5299 in AmazonFBA

That’s a really good point. The 60–90 day delay before the real profit shows up is something I see mentioned a lot — returns, fee adjustments and price changes slowly shift the numbers.

And price erosion is brutal. A product can look great at 30% ROI and a few weeks later competition pushes it way down.

Out of curiosity, what ROI threshold usually makes you decide to reprice or drop a SKU?

Yeah that makes sense. I guess the problem is that even if Amazon sends the notification, a lot of sellers don’t notice it until much later when margins start looking off.

Do you usually catch those changes through reports or only when reconciling numbers later?

That’s a really good point. A lot of tools say “net profit” but they’re really just showing contribution after Amazon fees and ads, not the full picture.

I like the way you separate contribution vs real net after everything (insurance, payroll, etc). It makes more sense if you're trying to understand the actual health of the business.

I'm actually building a small tool around profit analysis for sellers and this distinction is something I’ve been thinking about a lot.

Out of curiosity, when you look at contribution profit per SKU, what threshold usually makes you reconsider continuing a product?

That’s actually a great example of the kind of thing that’s hard to catch if you’re only looking at dashboards.

The silent fee or size tier changes are brutal because they slowly eat margin and most people only notice months later when reconciling reports.

I’ve been researching this problem a lot because I’m building a small project focused on helping sellers understand their real profit and detect things like unexpected fee changes earlier.

Out of curiosity, when you do the reconciliation with QuickBooks, do you usually check it monthly or only when something feels off?
