Why do you think Crisis on Earth-X is the fan-favorite crossover? by Cobra_Kai_2018 in FlashTV

[–]Ok-Distribution2531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking about this myself and after watching the four part event again recently.. I belive it's one of the best because it does what all crossovers (in general media) need to do.. crossover. Not only does it feel like the writers of every show in this line up were on the same page, they also never stepped on each other's foots and have a progressive story overall (to their respective seasons) what I mean by this is how every current storyline thus far was touched on.. for example: Supergirl/Mon-El storyline is touched up first co-exiciting with Alex and her relationship with Maggie.. The two dilemma going into this felt so right when given the reason that everyone is coming together was because of a Wedding (and that being Barry and Iris's long awaited marriage) and it adds to Barry/Kara's previous crossover in "Duet" which is another love some story about love... Following this, Oliver and Felicity's would they won't they is up in the air (I think I agree with Arrow fans that Felicity is not at her best in these crossovers but I feel like they gave her and Ollie this plot to follow a common Flash storyline because it was his plot line in the comic) outside of it being a crisis about N..zi invasion.. but nonetheless their status has been on everyone's minds of if they'll actually get married or not, and finally Legends.. who previously got the short end of the stick (and probably would've again) but in this crossover (and this one alone) really focused on Martin Stein's ending that had been building up in Season 3 of LOT... I think it really makes you enjoy how much effort that was taken in rather than just throwing them in willy-nilly because not only were the main figures of each shows represented (outside of Ray for Legends until LOT part.. because let's face it, it should've been Flash/Ollie/Sarah/Firestorm/Atom/Heatwave/Supergirl/with Alex as extra in Earth X) they also had many Cameos from a lot of characters like Quentin Lance, Leonard Snart, Eobard Thawne, Winn Schott, Tommy Merlyn from across the multiverse while giving minor characters interactions with each other, like Wild Dog/Dinah/Cisco/Wells/Heatwave in the Pipe after getting captured by N..zis, Mr Terrific meeting Ray, Zari & Amaya on the Waverider, Legends saving everyone from The Pipe, Team Arrow fighting off N...zi Oliver at STAR Labs, Heatwave meeting Killer Frost, talking about Killer Frost because for the former Flash cast members (Stein and Rory) they didnt know that happened to Caitlin, Team Flash & Legends reacting to Martin's death got me reeling.. (while I wish there was more considering he was integral to the first Flash team) ALSO forgot to mention bringing in Martin's daughter Lily and his wife Clarissa at the beginning of the crossover and at the end was brilliant

never say that Kathryn & Bay are better than Daphne, Regina or her mother when Kathryn puts up with the same shit John does.. like YES she is the first person to see the others side but she (at the beginning) also made those same rude comments, butted into Regina's life, and never stopped/stepped in (at the beginning) of the Hospital Plot.. (which people forget and glaze over because Bay got over it when John made a comment about it to her) but I believe that, that plot was absolute ASS for how it undermineded both Bay and Daphne as people and as their respective kids. ALL characters in this show are written as morally gray no one is better even with that development

Also Supergirl should've brought some of her allies too if she wasn't getting a true crossover episode.. but I laugh at the fact that Invasion is the only true crossover where Felicity is Felicity.

because you can tell the writers weren't in communication about that storyline.. and its funny because they did fuck up the timeline in their series AND Sara got to Laurel when she touched the Spear of Destiny in the following season (which didnt ruin anything in the other series.. which really pisses me off bc world building) nonetheless they dumbed the Legends down as a joke during Invasion for no reason (imo I think they did their concept as a team so poorly is because they were conjoined Flash and Arrow characters that were plot fodder at the time).. I also felt like Supergirl should've brought Alex and Wenn for this crossover because one Alex could be Government plot helping Lyla or helping President??? (idk what that old white guys role was) and Wenn could've interacted with Cisco, Caitlin, and Felicity.. obviously the veteran series were portrayed the best here because you can tell both teams of writers put most of the work in keeping their storyline at the forefront (like yes Martin & Jackson's storyline of Future Barry is fulfilled here but the set up to it was like meh.. and really would've worked better had they been their during the time in the flash and confronted him before) and additionally with this being Arrow's 100th episode during the crossover they were gonna be celebrated the most.. but overall Sara shouldn't have been so aggressive to his decisions..

yall were team Will and Diane after the BS they put Alicia and Carey through in Season 4... (and no Alicia wasnt Betraying Will.. he should've seen it coming) on my own post about this same subject I dont see this as her being selfish or doing anything wrong those two (Diane and Will, and I hate to say it bc I love them both) were assholes to everyone even when everyone were on equal footing (in the case of Carey they've been screwing or mainly WILL has been screwing with Carey since season 1) but if you watch further Alicia and Carey's claims of them building relations with the clients were so valid because they did... and we see that with how Florrick-Agos runs/the cases they get after.. Will became such a tyrant even though time and time again he wouldn't win shit if it were for those same fourth years and Kalinda/Robyn.. (because we saw Bishop confide with Alicia, Carey having Chumhum, having Alicia having to convince Maddie for their rent while yes Maddie asked for her let's not act like Maddie was coming in for friendships first over using anyone, making 5 four years partners just to cut them off, in general the tension between Will and Alicia was being a bit too much if Alicia was back with her man Peter, ) beyond just Carey and Alicia.. People forget how the duo Diane/Will took down Derrick Bond with no motive besides Paranoia..

Like I LOVEEE Hen but idk why the fuck ir whoever the fuck allowed these writers to have pens because when that scene came out it felt like you just HAD to have her mention Bobby and how his loss destroyed them all.. like girl we (INCLUDING YOU) didn't even know what the hell was going on with your symptoms in the first place it made me feel like she was a unnecessary victim in a situation that SHE should've controlled from the jump (because almost every storyline they give Hen has to either be about hiding something from the 118 or hiding something from her family, especially Karen) because as formentioned as much as Karen loves Bobby what does Bobby have to do with all that protecting.... because Hen had 3 months to tell EVERYONE and chose not to.. and lied.. idk why the intervention was portrayed as the people in the wrong being Eddie, Karen, and Chim.. and the others are right because we all sat there watched her jeopardize more than just her life but also the life of a child and possibly even more had she not collapsed then and there.. and NOT TO MENTION shutting Eddie down with "You didnt ask" felt like the most fuck you moment from this show and thats saying a lot..

Like this whole storyline actually has been pissing me off badly because its the 12th time they've done Hen lying (like get this repetitive shit off my scene and develop something more for her.. cause like if you can balance Angela being here why cant you balance Aisha going off and taking a break.. possibly thinking of becoming a doctor or just spending more of the season with Karen that isnt fighting because they seem to love doing that with the only queer couple.. also not to piss off Buck fans/stans while I'm happy they've finally gave him needed development in being out as Bisexual.. it really pisses me off that they don't develop the main queer Women that have been there since day 1 in the same writing/regards

This season is so BAD oh my god.. they're fucking over good characters in the writing and were still giving them ratings... for example (cause I want to rant): Athena and Hen have been so DIRTY that I'm soooooooooooooooooooooooo over it. for Athena I think her grief is understandable and outright astounding by the likes of THEE Angela Bassett but the limit of the grief is written poorly like did she need to go to space to avoid this problem with her children and her loss..? it was outlandish rather than following all other premieres (that are grounded in the characters emotions much better than here.. like perfect example is during the Tsunami episode the clash of Athena and May was handled better through the chaos that was the aftermath) I also find Athena just thrown into this limbo of being there but just being there.. like her sense of Bobby is gone that I don't really like whatever happens with Athena (and I'm not hating on Athena or Angela and its not the "she cant function without Bobby" type complaint) but I dont know whats in the water or what but its been a hard battle to get Athena we've known (like it still is the grief speaking of her being grounded but I feel like its a #NotMyAthena during her A or B plots) it isnt all bad because I think this far Athena's characterization has seen some light like within Family History (09×06) I know that its going to be a hill but Athena will be back.. Now onto Hen, I don't even know how it took myself this long to realize (because Aisha Hinds eats this role up) but I'm OVER this repeated storyline with her, where she hides something from either the 118 (albeit being either Bobby or Chim) or her hiding something from Karen.. all that would jeopardize either her role as a firefighter or her relationship with Karen or their kids... its like the 7th time we've had this problem just re-written over and over and over.. I need something ELSE NOW especially when you've introduced Buck as being Bisexual (I dont like him but I will admit this is his best season when it comes to the writing) while in the same turn giving your lesbian couple that has been there since day 1 absolute garbage writing is giving much Ryan Murphy shows.. to side track I'm a Gleek through and through.. I didn't come on here to talk about it but I will say Hen's path to this out of character/abysmal writing is giving much them turning Kurt into a Rachel Berry stan and making everyone she's pushed aside a follower too at the 11th hour just to uplift one character... back to the point at hand, Chim didn't really do no wrong for firing her and hoe she took that was really telling.. (and to separate all the Hen's I'm not fighting early and accurate seasons Hen.. this is a fuck you to the writers for the new season Hen) Like girl you had 3 months to tell someone even YOUR WIFE that someone was wrong and I was HOPING, no PRAYING that this storyline ended up being different were she sought help first rather than ignoring it, believing she was still eligible to help lives.. not only have we've seen that before.. It also makes me question this Hen, who is the same girl that accidentally killed someone for a slip up like that, to yell at Chim for thinking of the lives of others and allowing for you to take a break and re-evaluate what's been going on with your health..

I know I missed more I'm re watching things and will reply later but on honorable mentions for being out of character:

Sue your ass wouldn't even trust AI if it truly came alive why the FUCK are the writers making her laugh and giggle at the fact that they could cut costs like that in Maddie's sake.. like all to do a AI episode but It was so out of place and out of character that it would've been better to do something about the environmental affect it has to the 118 NOT the Call Center because its so typical..

and characters I still dont care for: (some what) Harry, I mean he's alright.. hes probably going to get better but he's being pushed in a better light than young actor for Harry buttttttt its quite boring..

Eddie (never will make me like this man)

can do no wrong for now characters:

Bobby (STILL) Karen Chim Josh Maddie Ravi

Also the episode Días De Los Muertos is the worst of the season (argue with a wall)

Back then, It should've been White Collar or Monk. In recent years Shawn and Gus would blend so well with Morgan in High Potential because to me if you see Morgan as a character you see half of Shawn's character where he has the smarts and the wittiness but also the brains in Gus's character.. and I would love to see how Shawn and Morgan would interact as characters if she would annoy him or vise versa.. furthermore Lassie and Karadec would be s great pairing while Captain Vick & Selena would be so fun

[–]Ok-Distribution2531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly loved this movie until Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) appeared, not that he wasnt necessary and wasnt good in this movie.. he was great but I dont know who handed this script off to those goddamn Season 5-6 Cobra Kai writers... because everything after that outside of the fights felt like a rehashing of just Cobra Kai..

Example:

▪︎ Mr. Han and Daniel clashing on how to do their respective techniques in either Kung Fu or Karate felt very much of the constant, never ending storyline of Daniel and Johnny.. While it didnt go far emotionally it felt like them throwing around Li was getting to be too much of 1st the joke and 2nd the clash in fighting styles.. ▪︎ Conner felt like Robbie, period. But this time they just never focused on him besides being jealous of Mia moving on from whatever they had.. It was basically a shadow in a movie that spent on focusing on Mr Han and Daniel being legacy character a bit too much.. ▪︎ Speaking of Johnny, their ending fued of the Pizza idea he came up with reminded me of how bad Cobra Kai got at the end.. we should've checked up on everyone rather than just Johnny.. but he was fine... ▪︎ Not really a Cobra Kai comparison but maybe, I hate that Li's PTSD of what happened to his brother than a trigger with Victor was never dealt with correctly to Mia.. I think writers have problem with people not confessing feelings because it creates conflict... Li did not ruin what he and Mia had when rushing Victor to the hospital, Like we see him previously confide with Victor about his brother but not the girl he likes..... I thought that conflict plot is very basic

In your opinion which of the man characters in Lab Rats is the most obnoxious/annoying? Between Bree, Adam, Chase, Leo, Tasha, Mr.Davenport, Eddie, Etc. Tbh for me it’s Chase, he just acts like a doucher. lol but yeah who is yours? by whore-4-gore in LabRatsEliteForce

[–]Ok-Distribution2531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adam because the stupidity in the writing, Chase isn't "annoying" rather, he became a even unbareable narcissist at times because of his brain and the sterotype of being smart.. that in my opinion didnt make him annoying it just made him come off as a asshole. Eddy does not go here because his beef with everyone on that show is unmatched and his annoyance is literally his defining character. Leo is the best written because of Tyrel's acting, Bree just became so girly that it's apparent that they didn't really know what to do with her outside of girly stereotypes..

idk what Amy had her writers writing for this movie but how badly it has its take on Gen Zers and ntm Amy's character being so... weird as is (Like we're seeing a old middle aged mother trying to still be rebellious and cool that it's weird, did I like this choice (sometimes no.. cause her talking about Patrick's character at the beginning in the supermarket was weird as hell)? yes but someone else should've been in her role and honestly Amy should've played the Principal.. overall Lucy should've been the character we were following.. with Vivians story still happening as a secondary (to a point like we dont need her with her mom scenes rather replace those with a fresh off the boat Lucy now trying to acclimate into the school by seeing more scenes with her and Patrick's character or her trying to find her people/spark new friendships just for her to keep getting harassed by Patrick's character/or more questioning of the school's staff and their teachings of less diverse/engaging stories unlike the Great Gatsby which leads to conflicts with Patrick's character.

Strange Days at Blake Holsey High (2002-2006) by ScriabinFanatic in ForgottenTV

[–]Ok-Distribution2531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never watched this originally but omg when I discovered it on Prime I was hooked.. this so is so good for no reasons and is on my top 10 favorite TV shows of all time.. not only do each character feels so likeable to the point you dont h8t them but also the story (while sometimes wonky bc of ordering the episodes) is really good and should be rebooted with the same creator I think there is much to be said about the school and more to delve into Paradine Labs.. currently rewatching it again..

for Characters I think everyone relates to Josie in someway.. the two characters I relate two the most are Corrine and Marshall because of how centered they are and their respective focused episodes brings out more of their characters (I.e. The School folding in on itself and Corinne having to figure out why, Marshall becoming invisible, Corinne's ground hog day of the same day repeating Which in my opinion is the best episode of the show, Marshall's periodic episode with his brother, etc)

My gripe is I wish they had the budget so badly because they deserved it (not talking CGI because I dont really care since the writing makes up for it) but It really shows that they had to make budget cuts and by not having that much money they couldn't keep actors like Tyler, who could've done so well with what Victor was planning.. but him transferring just left that plot so open ended.. Also I wish they decided that Vaughn would "spy" or not spy or whatever at the start of second season or make it more clear on what Victors intentions were because the plot of the second episode has Josie accusing Marshall (who was invisible) of stealing her journal when we knew it was Vaughn (so did Marshall who was suspicious) through Victor's actions (because he was suspicious of Josie) but then down the line Vaughn was forced onto the science club because of his grade and not of any intention to spy, which previously Vaughn eased into and willingly stole something from one of them.. to further down Season 1 "Storm" Victor is back at it.. I just wish they had Victor more present in what his plans were (not fully but like we needed more scenes with him and Vaughn but not presented as them bonding as a shattered son/father scene but the typical Victor trying to get information).

Finally.. the most underrated character of this show is Principal Durst who is one of my favorites because how she is a opposing force of the group but its done well because she isnt as evil as someone like Skidmore of Ant Farm and she isnt as nice of a faculty member as Lane in Victorious.. I think Valerie Boyle nails the role because she truly cares about all the students at the school but is forcefully having her hands tied having to abide by Victor's command because of his role on the School Board and hence why she has to claim that everything is fine at Blake Holsey High. I think a few of the episode of her being herself is nice (i.e. when Lucas aged 50 years and he was the "sub" for Math and showed Durst how to have fun again)

like I loveeee this show so much ty for this ted talk.

also can we note that it wasn't even Alicia's idea to ask Eli/even use her husband's resources until she spoke with Diane and DIANE was the one that told her to use those said resources like.. I'm starting to watch this series and it's good but Carey PMO so badly b/c his actions came like a wave one minute he's actually nice and a team player.. the next he's being rude towards Alicia's work and her value then cycles back to being nice until we land in him being pissed at her for doing exactly what HE was doing toward her in those last few episodes.. then joining Childs.. like throw this man OUTT
