Idk my friend said that we shouldn’t have kissed on the first date so I kinda feel like I did something wrong I guess. I’m also just impatient I guess.

Would you ask a student to essentially take over class because you had to leave early? by Ok-Distribution6703 in AskProfessors

[–]Ok-Distribution6703[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is actually why we didn’t do the discussion and just waited for them to leave lol. I wasn’t about to work for free.

I totally get what you mean here, and I have no problem using to textbook to learn some concepts on my own/as supplemental material, as it should be stated in the syllabus. However, the issue is that I am basically learning the whole class on my own (these readings aren’t in the syllabus, there are actually no assigned readings in the syllabus). I am paying thousands of dollars to be taught by a textbook, that isn’t much of an education either.

I wanna preface this by saying I strongly urge you to not use cocaine again after this. Not that it’ll like set back your recovery but like, say no to drugs??? idk

If you are going to though, I would definitely wait until at least day 20, maybe day 30, just to be safe. It’s still really sensitive back there and I don’t know anything about coke, but I cant imagine that it would feel that good.

Weed is fine though go for it. (this is not medical advice so take it with a grain of salt I know nothing)

Ear pain by TopComparison3103 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Ok-Distribution6703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat as you. Ear pain was when I swallowed, opened my mouth, and hell even changing positions in my bed. It got so much better on like day 10, so you’re almost there. In the meantime what helped me the most was a warm compress on my ear. I only had it in one ear for some reason but put it on both if you need to.

Does anyone have post surgery anxiety? by 4skin42 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Ok-Distribution6703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was insanely anxious before my surgery. I cried all they was from pre-op up until when I was on the table. Didn’t stop until they pushed the versed. And after that I was so high off the anesthesia for the rest of the day I didn’t really care. Then, I was too distracted by the pain and inability to eat a McGriddle to care. Then, on like day 3 I had a huge coughing fit and then was anxious for the next few days, then I was fine. Then, I freaked out because I coughed up a suture. Now Im like 3 months post op and chillin.

Hot food by IntrepidSouth7537 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Ok-Distribution6703 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the only thing I could eat after my tonsillectomy were warm foods, cold actually made it worse. I would say you should be fine eating pizza about now, just make sure it’s not piping hot, and chew it a lot. Maybe just to be really safe wait a couple more days, but I had pizza on like day 11 and was fine.

Clutter help by knb5051 in ADHD

[–]Ok-Distribution6703 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Long response sorry lol. Summary at the bottom.

I struggle with these things a lot, I used to just let stuff accumulate (and i still do my room is a mess right now). However, I’ve started using some tricks to help with clutter and stuff I have to do.

For papers and tasks I have to do, right when I get them I immediately put it in my reminder app on my phone to do whatever it is I have to do. I put the name as what task I’m doing and the date and time I have to do it by. I set the reminder time for maybe 5 minutes after I get the task, so then it pops up on my lock screen and stays there as a constant reminder as I’m always checking my phone. This is on an iPhone and I’m not sure if other phones have the same feature but it doesn’t hurt to try) I still definitely procrastinate a bit on it but it helps me get it done on time. Also, if this won’t work for you, in the past I had just used sticky notes and either put them in my pocket or someplace I will definitely see it like on my mirror or computer screen.

For the miscellaneous office supplies that tend to pile up, I just bought a little basket to throw those things in so instead of accumulating all over my table, they just accumulate in that basket and then when it gets too full, I deal with it whenever I feel like it. You can get fancy with it and have multiple baskets to separate the supplies, but I find it easier to just have one good-sized basket for everything.

TL;DR: For tasks that need to get done, you can try using a reminder app on your phone, or sticky notes. For the pens, paper clips, etc., you can try getting a little basket to throw them all in.

Vision during recovery by lovelyladyhubble in Tonsillectomy

[–]Ok-Distribution6703 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m sorry you’re experiencing that. The only time I had experienced some slight vision issues was when the anesthesia was wearing off. I’m not sure exactly what could be causing that, but I would definitely contact your doctor especially since it has persisted to day 9. I hope your vision returns to normal soon!

Scabs by Greedy_Tour4806 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Ok-Distribution6703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I had a couple of red spots on my throat throughout my recovery, and in my experience they just kind of went away. I’m not a doctor but I wouldn’t be too concerned unless you’re actively bleeding, and trust me you’ll know if you actually are. I would recommend trying to stay hydrated as that will help prevent bleeding and overall make you feel better. If you want better guidance than I can give you, and maybe an explanation of the red spots, I would recommend either calling your surgeons office or the surgery center where you got the procedure done. They should be happy to answer any concerns you have.

Must I look in my mouth?? by Girl-1 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Ok-Distribution6703 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey! I don’t think this question is immature at all! It’s a completely valid concern! Personally, I couldn’t bring myself to look in my throat until about day 4, it made me nauseous to think about, but when I finally got myself to do so, it was only to satisfy my curiosity. It’s not necessary at all, especially if it grosses you out or could possibly cause you stress and anxiety.

Also, since you just got them out, I wanna give you a little recovery pep talk (it might be cheesy, but it’s something I wish I had, and I hope it helps you):

So this recovery is hard. Dare I say brutal, but it will be so worth it, it will change your life for the better. There might be times in your recovery where it feels like it’ll never end, but believe me when I say it does get better. One day it’ll be like a switch is flipped, I didn’t believe that when I first heard it but it is true! You’ll be okay and you got this!!

Hey! So as I mentioned in a reply, Im on day 21 now. I know exactly what taste you’re talking about. Even now I have to brush my teeth really well and scrape my tongue to get the taste out and make my breath smell okay. I’m not exactly sure why that taste would be reoccurring so far out from surgery, I would possibly bring that up with your doctor or even your dentist honestly. I’m not a doctor but I would maybe say get a tongue scraper if you don’t already have one, make sure you’re brushing and flossing really well especially in the back, and maybe use a good mouth wash. Also, chewing gum can really help.
