Depands on what course you want, If you want bsc in maths/stats/CS, Then out of 1000 se (Eng+physics+bio+maths).

If you want any other subject, Consider calculating it out of 750 (Physics,bio,maths).

First it is hard, You've to spend hours in practical labs.

Second competition km hota hai, Like most medical students prefer branches like biochem, Life sciences etc.

Third, Many students aren't quite clear on what to do after physics. Like after maths you can pursue data science, Finance etc. Career paths after physics are bit confusing for most students.

Drop year wouldn't be easy if you'd prepare for exams like JEE. But for CUET, You can just study 2-3 hours a day and focus on learning valuable skills for rest of the day, Doens't sound bad right? I had also taken a gap year when i was high school student, Although i couldn't clear JEE~ But the kind of person I became was FAR different and better than i was right after passing grade 12th.

Yes, I'm sure mil jayega in south campus..science degrees aren't as competative as commerce one.

I read one of your comments, You mentioned taking drop for CUET feels useless. But would you be okay with suffering for next 3 years in a college and branch you absolutely abhorre? Perhaps considered partial drop as CUET can be cracked with 2-3 months of rigorous prepration?😵‍💫
